Random Eagles Information Still Not Worthy of a New Thread

Mathis would be fine as a back up, which is what he was signed to be. He's not a starter. He's below average in pass protection and is sort of just there run blocking. Is there really any debate that putting Herremans back at LG is a huge upgrade? That's the real question here.

PhillyPhreak54

It comes down to who is better; Mathis at LG or Justice at RT on Vick's blindside.

I'm inclined to leave Herremans at RT because I am more comfortable with him there than Justice.

Sgt PSN

RT is Justice's natural position though, isn't it?  How much time has he spent there over the last couple of years?  He certainly can't do any worse there than he did on the left.

SD

Justice played fine against the Skins who have some pretty decent guys coming off the edge. I could see replacing him if he starts getting his ass handed to him but from what I saw the guy held his own.

I believe it - the FP info shocked me because they had him as one of the top guys in the league. But I think he's done a decent job. Like I'd said before, above average

i dont get why you would believe a nerdy internet website who probably has never seen mathis play over over your own eyes

i mean if you watched mathis and thought he was good id say i totally disagree but its your opinion...but it sounds like you thought mathis sucked then when FP said he was the best guard in the nfl you raised your opinion of him

he played more left tackle in college but regardless hes been in the league long enough now at guard that i would say that his natural position...and this is coming from someone who intitally doubted him at guard because of his height/weight combo

i tend to agree with sd that herremans over mathis at guard is a much bigger upgrade than herremans over justice at tackle...and with all the red zone/short yardage problems they have had all year they need to shore up that interior

This is why I'm not throwing the towel in on the East and why Sunday's game is so important. Season is on the line.

Asante article from Roob;

http://www.csnphilly.com/football-philadelphia-eagles/news/Asante-Samuel-rips-Eagles-front-office?blockID=583288&feedID=704

QuoteAsked Wednesday if he feels wanted, Samuel said: "By Andy. Couple people upstairs might not want me, but who cares? They've probably never played football. ...

"It's a business and they run it like a business and they're going to do what they need to do. They're playing with a lot of money, playing fantasy football, doing their thing."

Asked to clarify if he was referring to Roseman and Banner, Samuel said: "Howie and Joe? I don't know, do they fit the comment I made? There ya go. You think they're upstairs playing fantasy football with the owner's money?"

Samuel said he thinks Reid is not on the same page as Roseman and Banner when it comes to whether or not to keep Samuel.

Reid carries the titles of head coach and executive vice president of football operations and has final say on all personal moves.

"I think there's a little power struggle around here," he said. "But it's all good. Like I said, me and Andy cool. I'm here to play for Andy. He's my head coach and that's all that matters. ...

"Everything has been good with me and Andy. That's my guy. That's who I play for, that's who I continue to play for. I go to war for Andy. It is what it is. All the other stuff upstairs."

General_Failure

Why wouldn't he love playing for Reid? Andy loves having starters on both sides of the ball that don't fit the scheme they're running.

The man. The myth. The legend.

For those of you who want Andy fired, it looks like that may be close.

Of course, Roseman would then have complete personnel control.

Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

im pretty sure he already has complete control....which may be at the root of the conflict

not even andy could have had two drafts as bad as the last two

Really? I'd be shocked if he were fired in-season and fairly surprised if he were fired after the year as long as they have more than 3 wins, which I expect. Why do you think it may be close, because Howie/Banner want him gone?
