That said, I farging love this signing.  In fact, if you exclude the previous FA pick ups this year, I love the Brown signing more than any other FA the Eagles have picked up probably since Kearse.

assante samuel say 'probably' is right

No, I intentionally skipped over the Samuel signing because I didn't love it.  Liked it, didn't love it.

if you like an aging back up RB better than getting one of the best cornerbacks in the nfl in his prime then your intentions were at best misguided and at worst completely delusional

and im not even the biggest assante fan

Overall, I agree.  But I'm factoring in situational need.  At the time, the Eagles really didn't "need" to get Samuel since they had Brown and Lito.  But right now, the Eagles do (or did) legitimately need another RB and they happened to get one of the best RB's for the last 5 or 6 years to come in and fill a back up roll.  That's why I'm more excited about it than signing Asante.

He's wearing 36... shouldn't that jersey be "Ring of Honored"?

PhillyPhreak54

Solid signing - I like it.

I like it even more because the jerkoff Dallas fans down here try to minimize it by saying he sucks.

Really?  Interesting.

Really?  Interesting.

According to Mikey Miss, he was spotted on the sideline rocking the 3-6.  He said it was a violation.

Not interesting.  Westbrook's jersey does belong in the ring of honor or whatever the farg the Eagles have to honor great players.  But you still don't take his number out of the system unless the player does something truly remarkable, like Reggie White setting the sacks record while playing for the Eagles.  Or if he dies while travelling at mach 1 in a vette like JB.  Those types of accomplishments gets your number pulled.

Being really, really good doesn't get your number retired.  Because if that's all it took then 20 would have been retired after Dirty wore it, 21 would have been off the shelf after EA and Mamula would have had to wear #58 while he was almost sacking quarterbacks.

Rome

36 would be retired if it weren't injury prone.

Speaking of "36" is he still in SF?

Concur. Save retiring jerseys for Hall of Famers and those who die while very good.
