it's hilarious reading everyone trying to out douche each other with how much they hate mainstream stuff

I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

I think "out douche" belongs in the official :CF slogan.

I really had no clue what the movie was about before seeing it, I saw the trailer on tv and thought, wow special effects look really awesome

an adult seeing a movie for cool special effects is as nerdy as it gets

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Inception was a fantastic movie.  It doesn't mean anything to me that certain people here didn't like it.

I've seen precisely 0 minutes and 0 seconds of The Lord of the Rings series.

And you are a lesser person for it!

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Shame. I heard all 24 of them were really good too.

MDS

i saw them all

insanely long and extremely boring at times...but its still mostly a great trilogy and the battle scenes are terrific for mindless popcorn fluff

obviously this is as high as itll go for a non-geek who doesnt wet his undies over tolkien

LotR was a great story burdened with a terrible writer. The movies did the best they could with the source material, but I still had no idea what was going on half the time.

My biggest complaint was the dialogue between Frodo and Sam.....almost as painful as the dialogue between Anakin Skywalker and Padme' in episode 2 and 3

SD

Really? You guys had a hard time following the Lord of the Rings movies? I read the book (after I already saw 1 and 2) and thought they did an outstanding job with the movies. I understand they're not for everyone.

Munson

I didn't think it was that bad....but the writing between sam and frodo, and pretty much all the other "touching" moments was pretty bad. Viggo saved his lines though with his acting.
