Just so we're clear on this in the future, Oriental means stuff that comes from the far east. Asian means people from the far east. Unless you're a canibal, don't eat the Asian food.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

I think my daughter's cat killed a rabbit last night. I have never been a cat fan but I have new found respect for him. He disemboweled the bunny right in the middle of my front lawn. My dog never kills anything.

Did he drags its entrails to the doorstep for you?

Years ago my grandparents had twin cats and they'd go down the woods behind the house and kill a sparrow or a mouse and then leave it on the doorstep as a present.

My grandmothers doberman used to do the same thing....snag a racoon or a possum or a groundhog and bring up onto the back porch and drop there and look at you like "I brought you something!"

No, but it was right in front of the front walk. He has left chipmunks and mice on the front mat before. My brothers Lab brought home the rib cage of a deer. It turned out that a neighbor had killed one hunting and hung it up in his yard. One day, it was a front leg. The next day, the whole rib cage.

Damn, the cat is taking down chipmunks? Aren't they on the larger size of the kill zone for a cat? Is the cat on HGH?

Munson

Chipmunks are tiny Phreak, about the size of a small rat.

this highlights a big difference between cats and dogs, and a main reason I prefer the latter:  if my dogs were 100 pounds heavier, they'd just be bigger, but if my cat was 100 pounds heavier, it would try to kill me

That isn't funny so much as true. We like to say we domesticated cats, but really all we've ever done is hold them prisoner. Some develop Stockholm Syndrome, but for the most part they'd kill us if they could.

it's fun watching cats torment their prey, though.

but absolutely they'd take us out if they could.  in a second.
