Got my hands on Madden as a gift.

Not bad, but considering I have not owned a Madden since GameCube 06 and havn't played madden regularly on the new councils since 07 on the 360, it's taking a lot of getting used to. Not sure what all the bells and whistles are about.

When you guys first started out, did you just put it on All pro or all madden and slug it out, or did you try that "my skill" stuff? I had it on myskill for the first game of my franchise and I won 22-0, after playing a couple of single games last night.

I've played a couple games online and have very surprisingly held my own. I tied the first guy up at 21-21 with seconds to go, but he ended up smoking me in the overtime...which was 2 quarters and not sudden death. McNabb would have liked that.

Won another match when a guy disconnected after I scored on him. ANd then lost 17-14 in a game that went by way too fast and saw about half my team get injured.

This shtein is so confusing.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Might as well start on All-Pro and get used to it-- that's what the default is for ranked games online, anyway. As far as holding your own at this point, they basically built this year's edition of the game so that newcomers could do that. The controls have been simplified significantly....and not in a way that people who have been playing for a long time are overly happy about.

I'm waiting for the new COD and the new star wars game... that's about it... played halo for a little bit, but those little geeks are too good for me... so I'll just wait for COD where I can hold my own.

Are you talking about Force Unleashed 2? With the current systems it's a crying shame they haven't made some more decent Star Wars games. Seems like the last generation consoles had some great ones.

SunMo

force unleashed was great...2 should be awesome as well
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

Fallout: New Vegas comes out tomorrow. I'm looking forward to giving it a shot at some point.

Haha you say they're simple, I'm confused as shtein. No sprint button is still weird to me. I'm still trying to figure out how to juke too. I feel like everytime a guy gets close to me I go all Mortal Combat and just start mashing buttons.

No sprint button makes it LESS complicated. How does NOT having to do something confuse you? Juking is as easy as moving the right stick in the direction you want to juke. Couldn't be any easier.

Munson

I guess I gotta start pushing the stick a little earlier because every time I do I get wrapped up.

And I think it's just a comfort level thing with me. When my guy is running, I'm used to having my finger down on a button while he does. I've found myself holding down one of the bumper buttons that does nothing while I run just because I'm used to it.

What's the best button to use while tackling? Do you have to actually push A or do you just run into the guy?

The right stick is the hit stick, which can cause some fumbles. It can also make you look like an idiot, so go with running into the guy.
