I need IGY to stop saying things that I agree with immediately.

Just imagine that he's not.

it shouldnt even be even

animals are not on a human level no matter what some hippie might say

should animals be treated badly because they are below humans....of course not

but lets cut the ridiculousness of even pretending a little bit that animals should be looked at on the same level as humans...or even close

Exactly right

Know what Kolb and Vick both have in common? They both kill animals for sport. Yeah I know a Deer is a forest rat and I agree they need to be hunted to keep their numbers under control, but an animal life is an animal life. What makes a Dogs life more valuable than a Deer life? I realize the Deer wasn't fighting another deer or being electrocuted, but I'm sure getting shot isn't the most pleasant experience either.

I agree it shouldn't be even.  But my point is that EVEN IF IT WERE, Vick deserves to be treated no worse than the murderers and rapists.  Instead, he's villainized even more than them, which just doesn't make any damn sense.

rjs246

Personally I think there's a pretty big difference between torturing, electrocuting and drowning dogs to death and deer hunting. I doubt the average dog-fighting-ring-owner feeds his family dog meat and I don't know any hunters who are interested in electrocuting or drowning a deer to death. It's a far more humane practice, and in many ways is a far more humane practice than the meat-factory-farms that we all get our super-market meat from.

Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

The gambling ring angle played into it, too.

Essentially, he's another athlete who is a train wreck and did stupid, needlessly cruel things. This doesn't put him into a unique group. I don't get any real pleasure out of rooting for him to do well, but since he's QB on the team I root for, I hope he does well. I also believe that while he's miles better than he was earlier in his career, he's still overrated. I also think he'll have an awful game at the absolute worst time. No idea why...just a feeling.

the hippie mentality in this country by too many is why it's happening. but igy's right and i have went at it with many about this and how some people put dogs so far up. yes they are a domesticated species but they are animals.

sure what he did was pretty low down but my main beef with vick has always been his lack luster play from the past but he has, regardless of what you call the competition, played very well, particularly in the passing aspect of his game. the guy is hitting receivers in stride more than not to this point and it's not crazy to think with his apparent dedication that he can keep getting better.

Well, this is definitely going to happen.  Maybe this weekend, but probably not until later in the season.  The next two teams they play have 1 combined win, so the Vick bandwagon could be quite full after week 5.

Also, we're Eagles fans, so we should always be expecting the other shoe to drop.  Most of us weren't alive the last time this team won a championship, and we've seen better teams and better players choke on it season after season.

of course the longer he goes being great the more i beliueve but im still expecting a huge egg at anytime

on paper i think the skins are a bad match up for him in that they have really athletic linebackers and ends that can destroy the eagles line and possibly contain vick more than most

that said the skins defense is a mess right now not so much cause they dont have talent but because everyone is having trouble knowing their roles in the new 3-4...and its hard to make a lot of plays when you are thinking about what you have to do

when the skins defense gets the system down they will be tough...theres just no way to know if its going to happen this week

The Skins secondary is a mess and Hall is an idiot. I see a big day from Jackson and a decent passing day from Vick. It's not like he's beating teams with his legs.

Fun with Vick quotes!  I searched :CF for posts I made with "Vick" in it.  After taking out the ones on Marcus Vick and Lawrence Vickers, I found some real gems.

Double-banger: Praise for Bayless with a knock on Vick!

Vick needs to learn to throw

Sure, it's blatantly obvious, what we always say about Vick, and ultimately aimed at some effort to help him understand what he needs to do to beat Skip's most hated player in T.O.....

but it's still a good read, especially for Bayless.

Without the transcript of their correspondence, I cannot make the decision as to who is the bigger liar liar pants on fire.

But we do know Vick's pants are on fire in general, thanks to the Herpes.

Herpes AND MJ?  DOUBLE HIT.

Ron Mexico loves herpes, and Mike Vick loves weed.

Oh snap.
Quote from: FastFreddie on September 26, 2007, 02:12:00 PM
This goes beyond the normal realm of stupidity.  This isn't like Allen Iverson trying to "keep it real" or like Pacman Jones staying true to his "thug life" roots...  Vick seriously is repeatedly messing up his life further and further with every decision he makes.

It's highly moronic self-destructive behavior... kind of like the way he plays quarterback.

I honestly don't even remember who "Bullet" is.

You won't have to wait long.  MNF, season opener.

Which Eagles defender would you most like to see end Vick's career?  Dawk?  Hollis?  "Bullet"?

The NFC South section of a scintillating season preview.

NFC South
1. Panthers- The hype is real.  This team can unfortunately play.
2. Bucs- Quietly made the playoffs last year.  Simms is playing for a contract.  Defense still has some solid pieces.
3. Saints- Brees is better than we give him credit for.  Reggie Bush will make some big plays, but Deuce is still rock solid.  Defense is sketchy but will pull together.
4. Falcons- Vick is overrated and will finally prove it beyond a shadow of a doubt now that he's my starter in the CFFFL AFC.
