MDS

Preseason all but over, it's really September now. In fact, the season begins in just 6 days. I'm about as excited as Jew at the dollar store. Let's get it goin.

NFC East
1. Eagles- Well, obviously.
2. Giants- Figure Manning has to improve, and with the additions of Madison and Arrington on defense, they should be a solid team.
3. Cowboys- Drew Bledsoe can only get worse, Julius Jones can't stay healthy, and....oh yea, TO the cancer. Should be fun to watch.
4. taterskins- Let the 17 weeks of pointing and laughing begin.

NFC North
1. Bears- Defense is every bit as good as last year, and Kyle Orton won't be playing a down. Couple that with their division, and you have a winner.
2. Vikings- Down the line, Brad Childress will probably make this team good again. But right now, they are still stuck in the 8-8/9-7 area.
3. Lions- Matt Millen is still there. Thus, they will continue to suck.
4. Packers- Brett Favre is still there. Thus, they will continue to really suck.

NFC South
1. Panthers- Good 1-2 punch at RB with Williams and Foster, and adding MeShawn should help the ridiculous Steve Smith. Maybe the NFC's best.
2. Falcons- Despite the superb taste of Mike Vick's taint, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the Falcons are gonna be pretty average.
3. Bucs- Who is their QB? Oh yes, it's Chris Simms. I'm petrified.
4. Saints- They finally have a stadium, and a QB not named Aaron Brooks. But, the defense is terrible and now they have Mark Simoneu.

NFC West
1. Seahawks- Weak division, decent homefield advantage and basically the same team returning. We'll see how big the loss of Hutchinson is.
2. Cardinals- I've been calling for this for years. But this is it. The last stand. With a new stadium and Edgerrin James, they will make the playoffs.
3. Rams- Yes, they tossed Martz out of the dome. Yes, it is now the Steven Jackson show. No, they won't be any good.
4. 49ers- They're gonna be terrible again, so the only thing to look for is if Alex Smith can be a capable QB in this league.

Playoffs- Wild Card Round
Byes: 1. Seahawks, 2. Panthers
3. Bears vs. 6. Cardinals
4. Eagles vs. 5. Giants

Playoffs- Divisional Round
1. Seahawks vs. 4. Eagles
2. Panthers vs. 3. Bears

Playoffs- NFC Championship
2. Panthers vs. 4. Eagles
NFC CHAMPIONS- PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

AFC East
1. Patriots- With Shakes McBruschi and Backstabbing Seau at linebacker, there's no way they can lose!!
2. Dolphins- Pretty much their entire franchise hinges on the fragile legs of Daunte Culpepper. Sounds enticing.
3. Jets- Oh what ever will they do without Curtis Martin? I know, get Kevan Barlow to replace him. Yea, that's the recipe for success.
4. Bills- JP Losman? Yikes.

AFC North
1. Bengals- Palmer looks fine, the defense is improved, and they're gonna win back to back division titles.
2. Steelers- With all the breaks they got in the playoffs last year, they are due for a setback. Well, in the end, not really.
3. Ravens- Give it three weeks before McNair breaks his ankle and Kyle Boller is starting.
4. Browns- Charlie Frye is their starting quarterback.

AFC South
1. Colts- It's the regular season, and Peyton Manning loves to show if his amazing talents in the regular season.
2. Jaguars- Easily the most boring team in the NFL. They always hang around in games, and fall just short of the playoffs.
3. Texans- I don't know why they're not a last place team.
4. Titans- Oh yea, that's why.

AFC West
1. Broncos- Nothings really changed here. Or in the entire division. So....
2. Chargers- Can ride LT while Rivers gets his feet wet, then he'll waste everyones time learning how to play in the NFL.
3. Chiefs- See how Herman Edwards reacts when his team losses 31-30 instead of 6-3.
4. Raiders- Starter: Aaron Brooks. Backup: Jeff George. There you go.

Playoffs- Wild Card Round
Byes: 1. Colts, 2. Bengals
3. Patriots vs. 6. Steelers
4. Broncos vs. 5. Dolphins

Playoffs- Divisional Round
1. Colts vs. 5. Dolphins
2. Bengals vs. 3. Patriots

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

The BIGSTUD

I'll pick the divisions, but I don't like predicting Superbowl winners in september.

NFC East:
1. Eagles
2. Cowboys - I used to have Dallas 3rd, but if TO can play Dallas is 2nd best in the division.
3. Giants
4. taterskins

NFC South:
1. Panthers
2. Falcons
3. Bucs
4. Saints

NFC North:
1. Bears
2. Vikings
3. Lions
4. Packers - Packers and Lions is a coin flip for the final spot. Both suck. Martz will improve the Lions though.

NFC West:
1. Seahawks - Even with SB loser curse, they are too good to not win this crap division.
2. Cardinals
3. Rams
4. Niners

AFC East:
1. Pats - Gotta give it to Brady
2. Dolphins - Dolphins will be good, but not at the Pats level yet.
3. Bills - Bills and Jets are two worst teams in the NFL. It's a coin flip on the bottom spot.
4. Jets - See above

AFC South:
1. Colts
2. Jags - Won't be as good as last year. Not even close, but still enough for second.
3. Texans
4. Titans

AFC North:
1. Ravens - The Ravens have impressed me thus far. If McNair stays playoffs, they win division in a shocker.
2. Bengals - Palmer looked damn good the other night on that knee.
3. Steelers - Down year after some offseason issues and being less hungry.
4. Browns

AFC West:
1. Broncos - Walker won't be his old self, but still better than Lelie.
2. Chargers - Chargers will battle a close division race, but lose in a tie or by a game.
3. Chiefs - Chiefs will be fighting as well, but fall short and miss playoffs.
4. Raiders

Sleeper NFC teams:
I don't really see any, except maybe the Falcons. They didn't make the playoffs last season, but aren't exactly a sleeper.

Sleeper AFC Teams:
Ravens and Chargers. Both missed the playoffs last season. Both I think make it this season.

NFC East
1. Cowboys- Their defense is sick. And young. And fast. Their offensive skill positions are sick. Hoping T.O. will implode is just that, wishful thinking.
2. Eagles- Their D has looked good and with Stallworth on board I'm starting to believe. A little. They still need a running game and they need to be able to defend the screen pass.
3. Giants- Their offense is probably the best in the division. Their defense is definitely the worst.
4. taterskins- Best defense in the division. Worst offense. The offense might be the worst in the league actually. I was originally thinking they would be 2nd in the division, but their inability to do ANYTHING on offense has convinced me otherwise.

NFC North
1. Bears- Defense is the best in the NFL. Division sucks.
2. Lions- I'll go out on a bit of a limb and say they'll be better than the Vikes.
3. Vikings- This could be a toss-up with Det, but I don't think their offense is any good.
4. Packers- This team of awful.

NFC South
1. Panthers- Good team all around.
2. Bucs- Good running game, improved passing game. Well coached D.
3. Falcons- Average team with an outstanding running game that will win more games than they should.
4. Saints- Awful.

NFC West
1. Seahawks- Weak division.
2. Rams- No. More. Mike. Martz.
3. Cardinals- Improvement, but a real jump doesn't come until/unless their defense gets a LOT better.
4. 49ers- Joke.

Playoffs- Wild Card Round
Byes: 1. Seahawks, 2. Bears
3. Panthers vs. 6. Eagles
4. Cowboys vs. 5. Bucs

Playoffs- Divisional Round
1. Seahawks vs. 5. Bucs
2. Bears vs. 3. Panthers

Playoffs- NFC Championship
2. Seahawks vs. 3. Panthers
NFC CHAMPIONS- PANTHERS

AFC East
1. Dolphins- Yep. It's time.
2. Patriots- OLD defense. No Charlie Weis on O.
3. Bills- Best of the two bad teams in this division.
4. Jets- Warmed over vomit.

AFC North
1. Steelers- Find a weakness.
2. Bengals- Defense needs help but the offense is good enough for a wildcard.
3. Ravens- Meh. Improved O. Agin D.
4. Browns- Crennel has had some bad luck this offseason.

AFC South
1. Colts- Yep.
2. Jaguars- Good defense. Offense sucks.
3. Texans- Should be better this year.
4. Titans- Jesus. Vince Young AND Lendale White? Worst. Draft. Ever.

AFC West
1. Broncos- Find a weakness.
2. Chiefs- Defense should be better with Edwards. Still good offense.
3. Chargers- Can ride LT while Rivers gets his feet wet. But still looking at some hiccups with a first year starter.
4. Raiders- Worst defense in the AFC.

Playoffs- Wild Card Round
Byes: 1. Colts, 2. Broncos
3. Steelers vs. 6. Bengals
4.  Dolphins vs. 5. Patriots

Playoffs- Divisional Round
1. Colts vs. 5. Patriots
2. Broncos vs. 3. Steelers

Playoffs- AFC Championship
1. Colts vs. 2. Broncos
AFC CHAMPION- BRONCOS

Playoffs- SuperBowl XLI
NFC- Panthers vs. AFC- BRONCOS

SUPERBOWL CHAMPIONS- BRONCOS

there is no way in hell jake plummer will ever see the field in a superbowl unless he buys a team

The BIGSTUD

If the Broncos win a Superbowl, it will be with Jay Cutler. Plummer is doesn't have the guts to win a Superbowl.

Plummer has as good a chance of winning a Super Bowl as Donovan McNabb does.

NFC East
1. Giants- offense will move the chains consistently, another year for Manning means even more production, Barber is a stud and defense is nasty on both end positions
2. Cowboys- offense will score points with the receivers, but O-line will cause major turnover troubles. Running game could take a serious beating this year. Defense is sharp and will always keep them in games
3. Eagles- Just went from last to this spot but thats it. Stallworth is not the savior, but will add more scoring prowess to this offense. LB's will be the pitfall and they could be battling ALOT of 4th quarters--there is no resting easy
4. taterskins- offense is skeptical with Brunell, but I still think they will put up decent points with the WR's. Portis will come back and finish strong down the stretch as usual. Defense is still nasty.

This NFC division is a coin toss

NFC North
1. Bears- Defense, not offense AGAIN to carry them in a gross division
2. Vikings-the defensive front 4 might be the key this year, and they have been waiting for this team to gel with the experience on the D. This team creates alot of turnovers every year. Offense is all dependent on Brad Johnson and thats scary---we'll see
3. Lions- Offense is ran by MIke Martz, so expect Kitna (who was a passing machine for Cinci b4 Carson) to put up alot of passing yards, but alot of turnovers. should be in alot of games this year. Defense is very suspect--should be ranked in the 25+ range of NFL teams
4. Packers- the funeral date for Brett Favre was set last week for Sept 10th when they play the Bears. Urlacher will read his eulogy

NFC South
1. Panthers- sick on both sides of the ball with the best defense in the NFL IMO. More targets for Delhomme means domination on both sides of the ball--my Superbowl pick
2. Bucs- Simms is maturing but not enough juice. Caddy could have injury problems (but so could anyone right), if not he could take them places with another good defense, he is that good
3. Falcons- love the front 4 and CB on D, but hate the most overrated QB in football. Vicks accuracy is worse than Chaney on a hunting trip
4. Saints- only bright spot is Bush, thanks for the Stallworth donation

NFC West
1. Seahawks-defense is still together and ready to get bakc to the Superbowl. Will it happen..no. the loss of Hutchinson and Jackson (who could be a liablility) might might hurt these guys
2. Cardinals--the Edge wont help matters with that O-line and the preseason shows it. Receivers are best in football IMO and will keep them in games, but improved defense (yeah they have believe it or not) might be the difference here
3. Rams- Its on the repaired shoulder of Bulger, he goesthey go. Defense is just not there
4. 49ers- get out of the league NOW

Playoffs- NFC Championship
2. Seahawks vs. 3. Panthers
NFC CHAMPIONS- PANTHERS

AFC East
1. Dolphins- One more year for Ronnie Brown, upgrade with Culpepper spells big things for this team. Defense needs to rebound from last year and stay consistent
2. Patriots- still better than the other bottom 2 teams, Brady is the man, but their defensive reign is slowly coming to an end
3. Bills- Lee Evans is the brightest spot on this Offense, not Mcgahee. Why not a QB in the 1st rd...oh...JP Losman. Im sorry..I beg your pardon?
4. Jets- a very efficient QB that throws 40 yards max, and a running backs in Barlow that thinks hes the answer is so sad

AFC North
1. Steelers- running game could take a hit with any injury back there with no Bus to tap it in the goaline. Their D is still intimidating, but will be challenged by the the 2 teams below this year
2. Ravens- If the offense can manage to pull the shackles off of Jamal Lewis' feet and McNair improves this passing game (which he should), they could be dangerous and beat out the Bengals for 2nd. Clayton is the bright spot for the WR's and Heap will have best statistical year in receptions and TD's. The D--dont have to comment
3.Bengals-its all on the that little ball right below Carsons femur bone. The defense needs to stop the opposing 3rd down conversions or they will be taking it in the ass every 4th quarter
4. Browns- Charlie Frye--I just spit up my soda

AFC South
1. Colts- running game takes a hit, but with that zone blocking scheme, any rusher should do the trick.
2. Jaguars- Taylor goes down with injury, c-ya bye (Greg Jones killed them)--Toefield or Drew is not the answer there. Love their defense and could challenge Colts this year
3. Texans- O-line still is hurting, but receivers should produce yards and more points on the board.
4. Titans- Vince Young will be good for this O in the future and Volek just got shafted big time by Collins. Still, there receivers arent good enough even with Givens. Wait some more

AFC West
1. Broncos- only weakness-- an aging Rod Smith and 1/2 achilles Walker need to get it done...and I think they will this year because Plummer is getting better with less mistakes
2. Chiefs- That O-line is suspect w/out fullback Richardson and Roaf. LJ is a freak, but gaining that many yards comes with solid blocking so it remains to be seen if he can duplicate. Defense has improved and I think Gonzalez has one of his best years with new coordinator. They could challenge the Broncos
3. Chargers- Rivers might be tough to put in there and LT cant do it all this year. This team slips without Brees
4. Raiders- Brooks and Moss will connect but have the worst defense

Playoffs- AFC Championship
1. Colts vs. 2. Broncos
AFC CHAMPION- COLTS

Playoffs- SuperBowl XLI
NFC- Panthers vs. Broncos

SUPERBOWL CHAMPIONS- Panthers---MVP--Steve Smith

NFC East
1. Eagles- I don't feel very confident about this, but... sure.
2. Cowboys- Without the circus already during training camp, I'd have them #1.
3. Giants- Brandon Jacobs will prove to be a bigger factor than Tiki.
4. taterskins- No QB.  No team chemistry.  No depth.  This oughta be good.

NFC North
1. Bears- This division sucks.
2. Lions- I have no good reason for thinking they'll even finish 2nd.
3. Vikings- There will be some growing pains this year.
4. Packers- I love the way Favre Favres up a Favre.

NFC South
1. Panthers- The hype is real.  This team can unfortunately play.
2. Bucs- Quietly made the playoffs last year.  Simms is playing for a contract.  Defense still has some solid pieces.
3. Saints- Brees is better than we give him credit for.  Reggie Bush will make some big plays, but Deuce is still rock solid.  Defense is sketchy but will pull together.
4. Falcons- Vick is overrated and will finally prove it beyond a shadow of a doubt now that he's my starter in the CFFFL AFC.

NFC West
1. Cardinals- They have to be competitive with all the weapons they have now, right?  Right?
2. Seahawks- Super Bowl loss hangover year still gets them 2nd in a crap-ass division.
3. Rams- They might even finish last.
4. 49ers- Alex Smith sucks.  They really, really wish

Playoffs- Wild Card Round
Byes: 1. Panthers, 2. Eagles
3. Cardinals vs. 6. Bucs
4. Bears vs. 5. Cowboys

Playoffs- Divisional Round
1. Panthers vs. 6. Bucs
2. Eagles vs. 5. Cowboys - When trying to see how ending this season could cause me the maximum pain, this scenario fits in nicely.  And after romping over the Bears, the Cowboys would be feeling really, really good.

Playoffs- NFC Championship
1. Panthers vs. 5. Cowboys
NFC CHAMPIONS- Carolina Panthers

I'll do the AFC later.  Maybe.

PhillyPhreak54

NFC EAST
1. Philadelphia - They're back. The defense and Donovan (MVP) carry this team.
2. Dallas - Tough call here between DAL and NYG. I'll go with DAL because of their defense
3. New York - Eli regresses, the defense falters, Coughlin blows a gasket...all is well with Big Blue
4. Washington - Only 2% of the offense!! Yeah, and only 2% of the predicted Extremeskin wins too.

NFC NORTH
1. Chicago - They better bench Rex Grossman. Just keep Griese away from dogs, driveways and booze.
2. Minnesota - Todd Pinkston turns into a true #1 and all Eagles fans kill themselves.
3. Detroit - Any good wide receiver prospects in the 2007 draft? Calvin Johnson, welcome to Detroit, pal.
4. Green Bay - Most talented team ever, eh your Brettliness? Brett's benched and Theisman cries on air.

NFC SOUTH
1. Carolina - Got 'roids? The Panthers are the best team on paper in the NFC juice or no juice.
2. Tampa Bay - Chrissy Simss is still the QB. He has Mike Shanahan's sons initials tattooed on his leg. I'm not joking.
3. Atlanta - WATCH HIS FEET, JOE!! WATCH...HIS FEET! Thanks, Paul Maguire. WATCH THEM SUCK!
4. New Orleans - Drew Brees has Joe Horn and Donte Stall...no, wait. Brees has Horn and Colston to throw to. And Bush. And Simoneau playing MLB.

NFC WEST
1. Seattle - I hope the Madden Cover Curse doen't kill Alexander - he's on my money league FF team.
2. Arizona - Who's hotter? Brenda Warner or Matt Leinart's baby momma?
3. St. Louis - Can Scott Rolen rush the passer? Of course he can! St. Louis is Heaven!!
4. San Francisco - Vernon Davis is a stud. Too bad he has to suffer with Alex Smith as his QB.

NFC PLAYOFF PICTURE
1. Carolina
2. Philadelphia
3. Seattle
4. Chicago
5. Dallas
6. Tampa

WILD CARD WEEKEND
3 Seattle vs. 6 Tampa ------>Seattle
4 Chicago vs. 5 Dallas----->Dallas

DIVISIONAL ROUND
1 Carolina vs. 5 Dallas----->Carolina
2 Philadelphia vs. 3 Seattle----->Philadelphia

NFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME
1 Carolina vs. 2 Philadelphia----->Philadelphia

This time Tito Sheppard and his boys hold their way to the Super Bowl. Revenge is sweet.

AFC EAST
1. Miami - Like the Fish a lot this year. Culpepper was a steal.
2. New England - Time for the Pats to bow down to someone else
3. Buffalo - Dick Jauron, Marv Levy, Ralph Wilson, JP Losman, Donte Whitner at #8, McCargo at #26. All bad choices
4. New York Jets - What's stronger, Chad Penningtons arm or a 12-year old girl?

AFC NORTH
1. Cincinnati - Only if Palmer's knee stays strong throughout the season. Their defense better step it up
2. Baltimore - Adding Steve McNair is a huge boost. Only problem with BAL being good is Billick being on TV more
3. Pittsburgh - Had 'em 3rd before Big Ben's appedix burst like a human face going through a car windshield
4. Cleveland - Hank Fraley replaces LeCharles Bentley; the football gods frown upon The Mistake By The Lake...

AFC SOUTH
1. Indianapolis - They could easily lose this spot to JAX if Rhodes and Addai cannot replace Edge
2. Jacksonville - Like Miami the Jags are an up-and-comer in the AFC. The key is Leftwich and Fragile Fred
3. Houston - How many times will we hear Mario Williams or Reggie Bush? 47 million.
4. Tennessee - Whaaat?!? Yeeeeah! Okayyyy! says Pacman Jones as he gets arrested again.

AFC WEST
1. Denver - which Jake Plummer appears...2005 Jake or pre-2005 Jake? This matters a lot.
2. San Diego - Philip Rivers' time to shine is now. I had him as the best QB in the '04 class.
3. Kansas City - The best OL does not reside in KC anymore. I like Herm. I like LJ. Don't like Green or the WRs
4. Oakland - Art Shell + Aaron Brooks + Randy Moss + Al Davis + maybe Jeff George = good soap opera, bad football.

AFC PLAYOFF PICTURE
1. Denver
2. Indianapolis
3. Miami
4. Cincinnati
5. Baltimore
6. Jacksonville
