theres usually only a couple teams than can legitimately claim to be the best in the country and never more than three

to allow 8 in means you should just allow 16 in...theres little difference btwn eight and 16 where as bwtn one and eight is large....this isnt cbb that has 25 teams that could win it all

The BCS system has been an improvement in that it at least attempts to match up #1 and #2.  The problem is that you have teams like Boise State that have historically gone undefeated but are left out in favor of a team with a loss and a tougher schedule.  There is really no fair way to settle an issue like that, but the logistics of a significant playoff are hard to get around.

this is all true and is also one of the reasons i love the current system...life aint fair sometimes and i love the drama and discussion pts it creates...its not like any other sport and that makes it special...i also like the nfls system...both are great in their own ways

nfl playoffs pawn and cfb regular season pawns...i slightly prefer the latter because college has 12 incredible weeeknds to follow where as the nfl might have 12 great games to follow

The team that finishes at #9 would bitch a lot, but let them eat cake.

In other words, the team that's ranked 8th is almost always definitively better than the team ranked #9.  It's rarely that easy when it comes to a few teams at the top of the rankings.

this just couldnt be farther from the truth in cfb

Because when you compare 8 and 9, there's definitely more of a gap between them than there is between say 1 and 3.  That's not to say that the team ranked 8th is an absolute lock, but the further down the rankings you go, the easier it is to separate 1 team from another.

I would argue that the exact opposite of that is true.

:-D  Vince McMahon all over it.

The more I see that Boise uni the more I kind of dig it.   Hawaii last team to beat Boise in 2007.  Holy shtein.  We obviously see a lot of Boise and we didn't really ever believe they had an argument but damn I'm believing now.  The start of that game was one of the most incredible I've ever seen.  farging nuts.

Correct.  That was the Hawaii Bowl where Chris Johnson went off.  Still pissed as I was planning on going to that but it was xmas eve and we had to go somewhere else.  My son went and still talks about  what a beast Johnson was that day.

seeing DonHo scream fatty at Weis was priceless.  Knowing his wife and JR were closer yelling, even better.  All the ND players were staying at the sheraton obviously, they had some of the best tail i saw on the island following them around
