Thank God we have Macho Harris and that Demps guy.  I hear Geoff Pope is making a push as well!

how much money will they save not having to pay his performance bonuses? thats the key here.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

In all fairness, no one touted him as a huge get or the answer to anything.  And they did draft Nate Allen nice and early.  And Jackson wasn't playing corner anyway, which is where the real problems are.  And his name is Marlin, which is pretty awful.

rjs confused the whole 'beating a dead horse' with eating out a dead horse. Easy mistake to make.

the best thing about jackson tearing up his achillies is i got to re-read this post by chuggie.

seriously who gives a flying farg about marlin jackson...the only that matters this year is the development of kevin cobb and the relationship building he does with his skill johnsons

the defense is a lost cause it doesnt matter who is playing safety...in fact if anything this is good news as it will allow us to see more of nate allen and allow us to see him early and often

Torn Achilles.

Marlin can get some good advice from Elton Brand about getting his career back on path after Achilles rehab.

Brand was a beast coming back from that injury, and he's still half as good as he was from what i've seen.  Enjoy all the Eagle gear you got.  I liked Nate Allen and preferred to have him win out in competition.  Instead he just has to play better than Demps and Harris.  I want to see Allen just go out there and know his shtein.  Take control of the job without a doubt early.  I was fan of the pick even if they had traded back a few to get him.  Jackson just has some bad 'Buckwalter" luck going on.

If marlin comes back "half as good as he was" then he'll be a fantastic 3rd stringer in two years

This proved to be a great signing. They only did it to make everyone think there was no way they would swoop in and draft a safety early. This enabled them to get Nate Allen without anyone leapfrogging them in the draft.

Now that they have Allen, Marlin was just collateral damage and was expendable.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
