I signed up for the same deal maybe a month ago. Seems good to me, but they should take a dollar off what they charge now because of this BS. Its only a matter of time before all movie studios start asking for this, then what?

Its just another BS move by an industry run by old men who won't conform to new technology. Pirating can't be stopped. They will find newer and better ways to copy things. Their watch instantly thing is amazing. Why not do that with all your movies?

if they did that with all movies, then sales would come to a halt.  not to mention that netflix would actually lose money as well.  because i only pay $9 a month for 1 movie at a time but i still get unlimited instant movies.  if they made all of their movies available instantly, no one would buy dvd's nor would they purchase the more expensive rental packages.

why does netflix give a shtein if people buy dvds?

probably.  they'd create different packages with a certain # of movies available to watch instantly for different prices.  eventually, i think that's probably going to be the future of movie rentals.  all online, streamed directly to your tv.  but the old hats in the movie industry probably will do anything and everything to put it off as long as possible since it would make dvd sales completely obsolete.  not to mention that it will also put every video store in the country out of business.

the quicker music and movie studios embrace digital copies and DRM the quicker they can modify a new business model and move...the...farg...on. think of how much $ they save by not having to pay all the people to print, package, ship, these physical copies. Netflix would eventually rent them out via instant watch but for a fee and still could offer many free options.

they're called mp3 players.  and everyone has them.

seriously, the sooner we get to a dvd and cd-less world, the better.  i farging hate how much space cd's and dvd's take up in my house.  not to mention that i don't have to worry about my computer files getting scratched.  get with the program dook.

oh, and as far as the artwork goes....i do enjoy the cover art on albums and dvd's.  good thing that when i'm scrolling through itunes looking at my music, it displays the album art for me.  it also does it on my ipod as well.

and when i'm scrolling through my netflix instant queue, there's a picture of the dvd cover right there as well.

a one inch computer image of an album cover is not artwork noob

im different in that my cd collection is probably the most valuable thing i own other than my house....i love it so much....sometimes ill just throw a cd in and read the liner notes of a bunch of albums for hours...then again im a nerd when it comes to that stuff

whenever i plug my computer into my home theater system, the artwork pops up on the tv and it's bigger and better than your little 4inch album art.  noob.

Not normally, it doesn't hurt to keep it all backed up somewhere anyway.

no it isnt cause you get a artificial picture of an album cover...you get no liner notes...no inside photo or art work...and you cant hold it caress it and love it like i can
