Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

So anyway, back to movies...
I watched Smilla's Sense of Snow last night. Has Gabriel Byrne, Robert Loggia, and some hot brunette.

Basic plot is this 6 year old Inuit kid is killed in Norway and his neighbor, hot chick, tries to find the killer. The more she looks, the deeper the mystery goes.
This was kind of a strange movie. It starts out as a European style mystery or detective movie, lots of atmosphere and characters with unknown motives, realistic characters, etc.
But as you build towards the resolution, all of the sudden the movie turns hollywood style with crazy action: the protagonist can beat up two dudes by herself, people pointing guns threateningly and then being shot themselves from behind at the last minute, that kinda stuff. Then finally it goes totally off the wall and ends up with a half sci-fi ending that cuts off abruptly. Combined with the comical sounding alliterative name, this movie seems like at least two movies smashed together. It almost seems like the studio felt like it wasn't commercial enough and just threw in some typical action shtein at the end just to give it some more appeal.
Anyway, Gabrial Bynre is cool like always, and it is still worth a watch if you run across it.

Rome

The Men Who Stare At Goats looks hilarious.  Looking forward to seeing that one.

Sgt PSN

wanted - ok if you're looking for a mindless, unbelievable action flick.

high point - a split second angelina jolie bare ass shot
low point - the movie's been out for at least a year and i still haven't seen any stories in the news about how some douchebag shot his friend while trying to bend the bullet.
