Doesn't every president start out with a high approval rating after election and then have it drop throughout his first year?

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

It's lower than any president in the last 50 years at this point and time in his presidency.

His low approval would still be a popular vote blowout. It's dropped as he's used up his political capital but he's hardly in trouble.

Non story.

Wouldn't be so sure about that.

Specter won't even have an easy time in his own primary.. and Toomey right now is holding a double digit in early polls.

I'm confident that the midterm election will mirror every other midterm election. The opposition party will get some seats back. I am also 100% confident that it won't be the smallest bit like 1994. The Republicans don't have any coherent message or any enthusiastic following. Just grumbling about Obama.

We'll see.  The Republican party has been presented with a great opporunity to make some big gains in Congress.  However, I don't have faith that they will capitilize to the fullest effect.

They won't because of exactly what rusty just said. They have no solid platform, no young up and coming faces with a refreshing message, no momentum at all. All they've been doing is complaining about and opposing Obama at just about every turn.

That's all Democrats did with Bush for eight years.

Both parties are littered with moronic, incompetent, greedy, ass-covering stooges, and ALL OF THEM should be tossed into blast furnaces.
