After watching that interview I don't think for a second he's remorseful about anything except getting caught.

That was exactly my impression, and he gave himself away when he talked about what he was remorseful for - all the things he personally lost, and it didn't really hit him until the cell door shut. I wonder if Dungy and the Humane Society guy see this.

I don't know...I watched it.

Its fine by me if nothing hit him until the prison door shuts. That's what jail is SUPPOSED to do.

Who is Mike Vick? More importantly, does he pass the look test?

My point is that he had months and months of being held up to public ridicule and outrage and had a tidal wave of feedback as to exactly what people saw as heinous, but it apparently didn't really hit him until he finally got to prison.

Vick should be a great back-up to McNabb and I look forward to some of the trick plays if the fat man has the brains to use them.
The off the field stuff, who cares.  I don't.  He broke the law and paid the price.  He does't owe me or my dog anything.

And for a lot of people, it doesn't.  I don't fault him for that at all.

so what if it took him until he got to prison. its human nature to lie for almost everyone "until the cell door shuts". we see something illegal happening to a star, politician, sports figure practically every day...and guess what they lie.

Im not a fan of the guy one bit, never have been...but Im also able to keep an open mind on this and see if he can turn things around for the better. his job now is to score touchdowns not to keep apologizing

I read his blog; and to me that makes me think what he says is genuine.  I absolutely understand what he means when he says he was numb to violence.

There were things that when I was in Iraq if you told me I would do them beforehand I would tell you that you were crazy.  When you get put in a situation where things are taken away from you it gives you a whole new perspective on life.

We used to compare being in Iraq to being in prison.  While we were there on basically our own "free will" once we got there we weren't.  I was by no means an inmate, but in many ways I can relate and it definitely changes your outlook.

I love some of the comments from that link.

QuoteJust because a guy can run down a field or dribble a ball, does not make him honorable, smart or a candidate to be a role model for your child.

You know what? I don't even like Vick, but I'm sick of people thinking athletes should be role models. Have any of your kids started eating sunflower seeds because Westbrook eats them? Did anyone ever go ice fishing because Gary Anderson does it? Did anyone go out and farg a Filipino tranny because Magic Johnson got AIDS? Of course not.

I think we're well past the point of having to pretend these guys are useful for anything other than entertainment.

C'mon, there's no way Vick actually wrote that blog.

Doesn't really matter if he's remorseful or not though. Even if it's just for PR purposes, he has to go out there and do some good, and people will be watching him very closely to see if he fargs up.

PFT contacted Boyko and he confirmed Vick didn't write that
