Per IGN.com:

QuoteAugust 4, 2009 - If you ask veteran PC gamers to list their favorite games of all time, odds are X-Wing or TIE Fighter (or both) are somewhere on their lists. There's a reason for that, as both were superb action flight simulators that immersed you in the epic Star Wars conflict between the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire. X-Wing was the first game in the series and TIE Fighter the sequel, so TIE Fighter is often more beloved because it was more refined. Plus, it was awesome to rise in the ranks of the Imperial Navy and become the Emperor's most valued fighter pilot.

It's been more than a decade since the last game in the series was released; hard to believe but X-Wing Alliance was released in February of 1999. The space sim genre that was established by the Star Wars games and Origin's Wing Commander series then began to fade for various reasons. However, fans have longed for a sequel to TIE Fighter since then.

However, things may be changing. There's a new president at LucasArts, Darrel Rodriguez, who seems intent on revisiting the company's past glories. In the past few months, LucasArts has begun to release its library on Steam, and the company recently released The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition on PC and Xbox 360. The latter was a remake of the classic adventure game with improved graphics (but for those who want a nostalgic return, you could toggle the original graphics at any moment.)

Now here's where it gets interesting. G4 recently asked Rodriguez about the possibility of X-Wing and TIE Fighter returning. His answer: "We don't have any announcements now, but stay tuned. We will soon."

It might be time to dust off that joystick.

madden demo tries to tell you how they made all of these changes, but in the end, i didnt think it was any better than last years offering.  I dont know why they just dont with is the NCAA controls/engine.  The killer for madden is Dynasty, and we'll see how that is.

exactly..its amazing how the can pull off scooping 60 bucks off the same heads every year. its a friggin scam. they have either ran out of ideas, just dont care enough or need a more powerful console to bring that game to life

a few tweaks is not worth the 60

A KOTOR 3 game would be nice. I don't play mmo so the new game coming out doesn't pump my nads.

that's why i only buy madden about every 2 years.

actually, buying games anymore is a pretty dumb thing to do with your money.  the market is saturated with games and sequels and spin offs, etc etc.  improved game consoles appear to be coming out every couple of years which immediately render games from previous consoles obsolete.

either renting from places like gamefly or even just buying used games from gamestop is a far better use of money imo.  i own like 4 games for xbox 360.....mlb2k9, rock band 2, midnight club la and some other racing game my g/f bought.  the rest i either rent or borrow.

although I have less time now to play video games....Im gonna have to start going the renting route when a new game comes up that I might want because of exactly what you said--pointless

i mean if you like the game that much and know youre going to play it beyond a season or storyline than fine, but the only game Ive ever come across that I have done that with so far worth the 60 bucks is NBA2K9...by far the most realistic bball game ever created

i typically buy games on ebay , play em, and then sell them back on ebay for as little $ loss as possible.  If you get lucky you can even break even on the deal.

that's not a bad idea either.......as long as the disc isn't scratched when you buy it.

KOTOR 2 was so badly botched they gave up on the third and  they had to put the MMO 100 years after the events of the first two games.

if you guys havent seen what Project Natal is all about for the 360 that SD mentioned back in June... here it is.

looks like their obviously trying to compete with the Wii (as Im sure Sony will go that route soon), but this looks like way too much work for me. Id rather put a chew in, relax and veg out for a couple of hours if I have it with a joystick

From what I've read, Madden 10 is getting mostly positive reviews from publications and reviewers alike. Looking forward to picking it up. Toys r Us has a $15 gift card back deal, in case anyone is interested. Also, if you don't mind waiting, Sports Illustrated is giving Madden 10 away with the $49 purchase of their magazine...so, if you wanted the magazine, that's a great deal....
