Watched "Knowing" on Tuesday, it was a better movie than people gave it credit for.  Maybe because my belief system fell into play there, and thats close to the scenario that i told my religion teacher in HS to who i think GAWD is.

"Taken":  perfect guilty pleasure movie, gratuitous killing, and as you guys said, didnt see the wife part..LOL

Watched The Orphanage last night. A Spanish horror/drama that got a lot of press a few years ago. I wanted to see this movie b/c I really liked Pan's Labyrinth, but after I got it I realized that Guillermo Del Toro was just an 'Executive Producer' on it, meaning a big name to give it some cred and get some good actors involved in the project. The director was actually a first-timer who had done nothing but shorts and music videos.
In spite f that, this was a really excellent movie it was actually not even a horror movie, more like a very emotional thriller. There was little blood and not many shocking scenes, but the emotion was kept very high throughout and it was still pretty intense.
The main actress Belén Rueda was outstanding and the movie overall was really, really, excellent. Nine out of ten eagle babies.

I also watched Escape from New York, from 1981, directed by John Carpenter, of Halloween fame.
I have been trying to see what this John Carpenter guys underground rep is all about. I have seen Halloween and liked it, but I haven't seen seen much else by him, although I did watch about 15 minutes of the horrrrrible follow-up Escape from LA .
I have heard that Escape from NY is something of a cult classic, but i don't really get it. It was pretty cheesy and didn't even have that much great action. I did like the shots of a decayed New York, but overall it was kinda retarded. Worth watching on a Sat. afternoon if it comes on TV, but that is about it.

peeped the movie/documentary Tyson at a DC hotel last night--very good

during the flick they showed footage of him in his young days working out with his former trainer Cus D'Amato in the gym, and my jaw dropped when I saw him bobbing and weaving throwing cuts--the shtein was crazy blinding speed. i've never seen anything like it.

ice grillin you

escape from LA is epic awfulness...the special effects in the surfing scene are so bad

escape from ny is awesome...but i also havent seen it in maybe 20 years so it may have aged worse than 'they live' (not possible) who knows

i saw savage grace last night on starz...julianne moore who i normally love is so over the top and hacks it up for most of the movie...dook who played her husband was a terrible actor...and her gay son was annoying as shtein..movie pretty much sucked except for the hot as shtein spanish chick who goes naked in it

4/10

a recent move has forced me to go into the dvd collection because comcast takes forever to set appointments up, so the past few nights I watched...

Collateral - guilty pleasure movie for me. just loved the movie period, nothing really special, but i wanted to buy it after i saw it
Hot Rod - one of the most hilarious movies made. highly underrated. some of my fav comedic actors are in this movie, plus queens of the stone age make an appearance as well!
Napoleon Dynamite - another one of those movies that just makes me laugh for unknown reasons. the subtle comedy in this movie is great. little things that makes this movie funny

Check out Assault on Precinct 13. Both versions, if you're bored. The first one is a no-plot 70s movie, and the remake isn't awful.

The man. The myth. The legend.

Harry Potter was alright.  Meh/5

I can't imagine a scenario where I would ever go to a theater with the intention of seeing a Harry Potter movie.

Eagles_Legendz

Yeah I'm sure there are people on here that share that sentiment.  I really enjoyed the books though so I go to see them in the theaters.  Some of the movies I like, others I don't.  This one was somewhere in between.
