Obama hasn't been nearly progressive enough for me.  I expected a lot more from him in terms of undoing the idiocy and outright criminality of the Bush regime immediately.

I have no problem with how Obama is handling the economic situation and if he can even stop the slide within a few years it would be a miracle. I do not however accept that shadyness is okay since it's to a much lesser extent than the worst president in history or that he is at this point basically denying gays rights himself at this point.

the defense of marriage garbage is a complete and total failure/embarrassment on his part...other than that hes been awesome as far as how awesome you can be in a few months
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

I agree. Dealing with smoking and marriage is awesome while North Korea is practicing for a nuclear attack on someone.
The drawback to marital longevity is your wife always knows when you're really interested in her and when you're just trying to bury it.

ice grillin you

like we are gonna stop north korea from making a nuke if they wanna do it....only china can do that....

nk is about as non an issue as you can get right now...of course freakzoid warmongering neo cons will act like we are on the verge of wwIII

The health care issue is huge. Let's see if he can help pull it off. By "it" I mean something that doesn't involve further anal rape to consumers. It's still real early.

rjs246

So the issue is simply that everyone's expectations were extremely high and he hasn't reached them. Well, sounds like our problem. Not his.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

ATV

No. I think he's largely done great, as expected. The economy has stabilized (no small task), folks are feeling better about our direction, our reputation around the world has improved, progressive legislation is being passed and most importantly ATV no longer goes to bed at nights with the realization that there's nobody at the wheel ~ What's not to like? Oh yea, this unexpected parallel with Bush policies as far as executive priviledge, etc.

Health care, though. Huge. We'll see what happens.

L.O.L.

The economy has no where near stabilized and if "Cap and Trade" is passed by the Senate (which I don't think it will be) it will cost millions of more jobs.

The "direction of the country polls" have reversed in the past month or so.

Reputation in the world has improved? So "The Great Obama" can't fix the economy in 150 days but he can change the minds of 6 billion people.  Brilliant!

Progressive legislation passed?  May want to ask the gays about that one.

The jury is still WAY out on this admin.
I believe I've passed the age of consciousness and righteous rage
I found that just surviving was a noble fight.
I once believed in causes too,
I had my pointless point of view,
And life went on no matter who was wrong or right.

I think the real point here is Obama's administration could be a catastrophic failure on all counts yet it still wouldn't be as bad as his predecessor's.

I might be mildly disappointed with Obama at the moment because I was being unrealistic in my hopes for what he would do immediately, but I'm comforted in knowing for certain that a McCain administration would have been worse.  I shudder to think what McCain's reaction would have been to the events transpiring in Iran.

Wrong.

Quoteand if "Cap and Trade" is passed by the Senate (which I don't think it will be) it will cost millions of more jobs.

More like another example of progressive legislation that should have been passed eight years ago or more.

QuoteThe "direction of the country polls" have reversed in the past month or so.

Wrong. Stabilized at worst...

QuoteSo "The Great Obama" can't fix the economy in 150 days but he can change the minds of 6 billion people.

A) Where is "The Great Obama" from? From which Right Wing radio program did you learn that?

B) The economy has stablized.

C) Who said anything about changing the minds of 6 billion people?

QuoteProgressive legislation passed?  May want to ask the gays about that one.

Ok. That's all you've got? I'll take it.

QuoteThe jury is still WAY out on this admin.

It's still very early. I think we should keep our facts straight, though.

this thread is the longest running pile of crap on the internet.  and that's including perez hilton.

The unemployment rate is continuing to climb.  There may be some signs, but not all the trends are positive right now.

ice grillin you

unemployment is going to get worse before it gets better maybe even hitting 10% before its all over but it always runs behind the rest of the economy...you have to get the rest of the shtein in order before you can start putting people back to work and so far thats happening....obviously barry doesnt deserve nearly all the credit for that but to say he isnt doing anything about the economy either is assinine

i really dont see how you could complain about him at all so far...but the right wing loons going off about him 24/7 are ridiculous....at least the left waited until bush farged up to kill him
