Apparently Cheney is spouting off about 'the dangers' of Obama's foreign policy again. Is it possible for him to be any more despicable? Keep your mouth shut, douchebag. You had your chance, you farged everything up, now go back to your hole and die slowly of internal bleeding.

Forget government spending, these are the things that I take issue with when it comes to Obama...

In three separate ongoing cases, the Obama Justice Department has invoked the so-called "state secrets" privilege, arguing that litigation cannot go forward because it would reveal classified information, a tactic of his predecessor's that Obama had no problem criticizing during the campaign. At the same time, Obama's advisers have declined to answer questions about whether or not they will support legislation, which was once supported by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Vice President Joe Biden, to give judges a greater ability to limit the use of the state-secrets privilege as a courtroom tactic. "It's disappointing that the Administration is throwing up the same legal argument," says Caroline Frederickson, the ACLU's top lobbyist.

But there is reason to hope...

As it stands, the Obama Administration policies on these matters are still very much a work in progress. Several key policy posts at the Justice Department, including the crucial top position at the Office of Legal Counsel, have yet to be confirmed. The Obama Administration also continues to meet with civil libertarians to discuss these issues. The latest, a private gathering that took place on Friday, involved several civil-liberties groups that had spoken with the Obama transition office about the state-secrets issue late last year.

That's absurd. You can't attack the man for spending a ton (which is viable) and then attack him for cutting spending as well. I mean, that's exactly why everyone hates politics and politicians. It's called talking out of both sides of your mouth and it makes you look like a clown.

Is it going to make any sort of dent in the bigger picture? No, it isn't worth mocking him for either. It's a good thing no matter what its magnitude.

But you know, hyperbolize all you want about how ATV and I are one and the same. Jackass.

Government waste includes time wasted on the absurd.  Making a big deal about TRYING to cut a relative pittance from the budget is just a PR move and isn't getting this country anywhere.

I don't even want universal health care, but I'd rather he worked on that than just wasted time.

Putting out a statement is hardly making a big deal or wasting a ton of time but whatever. It was absolutely a PR move. That's a large % of what politics is. And you're also right that cutting 100mil or 500mil or 1bil would do essentially nothing to improve the financial situation. But it's laughable transparently partisan to rail against one thing and then rail against the exact opposite thing as is convenient.

You're just finding things to complain about the same way that ATV is finding ridiculous things to blame on right wingers.

I don't care about the ancillary bloggers from the left wing.  I care about the President's plan of action, and this plan sucks.

Appropriating billions of dollars to upgrade things like our schools, infrastructure, high speed rail, alternative energy sources, etc. was a very bad idea. So logically attempting to trim millions from the budget is even worse.
