QuoteAnd somehow their message is getting through.

Yea, but getting through to who? The Fox "News" watchers?

Unlike the demonstrations of millions of elitists before and after the start of the Iraq War, these "Tea Party" demonstrations (that are totally spontaneous and which Fox "News" shares no part in advancing) are huugggee. These are hard working folk of all colors and backgrounds singing as a one unified voice to protest against rich folk other than them having to pay an additional 3% in higher taxes after their first $250,000 in income. The rest of the nation trembles before their popular might...

Not to get all ATV on everyone, but I farging love the fact that our President is giving us regular, intelligent, coherent updates and information on why his administration is making the decisions that they are making. Today's speech addressed the rationale behind their economic decisions, some of the criticism against those decisions and was delivered in an adult tone.

Agree with his policies or don't, I don't really care, but the fact that he is taking regular opportunities to engage the public and explain his decisions to us like adults is farging refreshing.

I do wish that he could assign some blame for the banking crisis on the policies that congress initiated :(  And just not repubs!

I wish he'd tweet more information.

I agree, but he's still a politician so I sort of understand. Still, you have to admit that his commitment to communicating with the people is a total 180 from the last administration. To the shock of no one.

Tea Party douchbaggery. Are these people farging serious?

QuoteAnd while way too many otherwise sane Republicans are actively pandering to the tea-bag battalions, some old-fashioned conservatives are calling out the Teabaggers for their silliness. Writing in Fortune magazine, conservative policy analyst Bruce Bartlett, who has a long anti-tax history, says: "The irony of these protests is that federal revenues as a share of the gross domestic product will be lower this year than any year since 1950. ... The truth is that the U.S. is a relatively low-tax country no matter how you slice the data."
