Because they probably don't have income tax refunds for people that don't pay income tax

I don't hate anybody.  Government can do great things but they should concentrate on doing for the "people" what the people cannot do themselves.  Building roads, schools, Nat. defense, medical research, parks, FEMA, etc.  All able bodies American workers should pay something in income tax (1%?).  Claiming 50% of American wage earns deserve to pay nothing is unfair to the other 50%.

the income tax code isnt equal because the assumption is that poor people pay a much greater % of their income in payroll sales and excise taxes.....a family making 40K is having a hard enough time as it is getting by....taxing them would be cruel and not even accomplish much...i mean what are your revenue projections if you increase taxes to say 10% on the first 40K?

and they are still paying into the social security and medicare pots...payroll tax is probably being taken out...theyre paying the gas tax cigarette tax sales tax and everything else.....you do know the income tax isnt the only way money gets into the federal coffers

I would love for this county to go one year with an absurdly low tax rate (1%?) just to see the horror that would ensue. shtein would fall apart faster than you can possibly imagine and it would be farging spectacular.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

I think all Americans should " be in this together".  The tax free strategy is pretty obvious.  In 2012 only the top 40% will pay income tax, in 2016 only the top 30%, etc.  It's bribing the poor for votes IMO.

As IGY pointed out everyone who is employed, and many who aren't, add revenue to the government in the forms of many different types of taxes. This conversation is retarded. A tiered tax system is a reality in every corner of the western world. It has been for centuries. To claim that the poor don't pay any taxes is to ignore the 100s of things that they are taxed for on a daily basis.

do you understand what % of income means?....these people who you say are paying no income taxes still pay a far higher % of their income in other taxes...that means out of the money they make a much higher % is being taken by the govt than that of rich or even middle income families...again youre are talking about ONE tax here...the income tax...there are other taxes out there

i cant fathom why anyone would wanna tax working families....who already cannot get by...even MORE in taxes

Whether you agree with the message or not, protesting against government policies (or the government in general) is a good thing.
The drawback to marital longevity is your wife always knows when you're really interested in her and when you're just trying to bury it.

Don't become California? So we should open the borders and let gay people get married? I don't think I understand that one at all.

the people who are protesting the bailouts and spending are legit
