ESPN says the NFL may increase the season to 17 or 18 games. I'm not a fan - we'll be seeing too many scrubs playing because the starters are hurt. Plus 16 just seems to work so well

So cut the pre-season down to 2 games and keep the regular season at 16. Believe me, I understand the financials and the reasons why that couldnt happen but I'm a traditionalist...16 games. Period.

the only reason they're even thinking about this is because they know the nfl can own the entire month of february.  it has nothing to do with giving fans what they deserve by getting rid of some preseason games, or whatever garbage the commish is talking about.  another reason it'll never happen is because players get 16 paychecks a year.  now you expect them to get paid the same but play an extra game or two?  no way and i don't blame them.

The NFLPA would have to sign off on it, and I imagine if they did the new CBA would make sure the players get compensated for the extra games.

I agree the preseason games should be cut to two or three, but not because the regular season became longer. A lot of rookies can barely make it through the season as is

plus 16 games has only been around since what 76?...its not exactly a long standing tradition...and football isnt like baseball in terms of historuical numbers or anything

maybe i care more because i have to pay for four preseason games but i dont see how you could be against more real games

also, some of the new rules changes are extremely gay.  especially the one where you can't go for the qb from the ground.  what a crock of shtein, you're just supposed to lie there now?

They're calling that the Tom Brady rule. If it was almost any other QB that got hurt, no new rule. I hate all the new rules. Further pussification of the game. If these players are that worried about safety, they should play baseball
