QuoteANOTHER ARREST FOR MATT JONES
Posted by Mike Florio on March 9, 2009, 7:43 p.m.

Just as the "Days without an Arrest Meters" was hours away from getting back to double digits, Jaguars receiver Matt Jones has been arrested, again.

A reader has forwarded to us this link to the Washington County, Arkansas Sheriff's office, which shows that a man named Matt Jones, a 25-year-old white male with brown hair and blue who stands six feet and five inches from the ground and weighs 205 pounds and having an address in Jacksonville, Florida, was arrested at 6:21 p.m. CDT for possession of a controlled substance.

Jones is listed on the Jags' official web site as 6-6 and 216 pounds.  He's also 25.

We suppose there's a chance that it's not the same Matt Jones as the one from Arkansas who plays for the Jacksonville Jaguars, especially since a mug shot as of this posting has not yet been posted with the arrest information.

If it is Jones, he could be in big trouble with the NFL, and the law.  Last year, he was arrested for felony cocaine possession, but agreed to enter a diversion program, which among other things requires him to stay out of trouble.

He also was suspended three games by the NFL.

So if the Matt Jones from Arkansas who plays for the Jags is the same Matt Jones of identical age and similar dimensions and Jacksonville address who was arrested within the past half hours in Arkansas, he's got a big problem.

UPDATE:  The mugshot is now posted.  Yep, it's him.

SECOND UPDATE:  Jones also apparently is charged with violating the terms of his probation.

I'm so glad they did not draft this dude.

A lot of fans were pissed that they did not get him, but he reeked of a workout warrior ala Mikey Meat. Now he likes to snort the snow....

QuoteSTALLWORTH DETAINED IN PEDESTRIAN FATALITY
Posted by Mike Florio on March 14, 2009, 12:22 p.m.

Friday was a good day for Browns receiver Donte' Stallworth.  As of 4:00 p.m. EDT, he officially earned a $4.875 million roster bonus.

But Saturday is turning out to be a very bad day for the one-time first-round pick.  According to CBS4 in Miami, Stallworth has been detained after an automobile accident that killed a pedestrian.

Per the report, the accident happened at the intersection of Fisher Island Drive and the MacCarthur Causeway in Miami.

We've separately been advised that police are investigating whether Stallworth was driving under the influence.  According to a source with knowledge of the investigation, authorities performed a mandatory blood draw on Stallworth, and they are awaiting the results of the test.

We're also told that prosecutors are involved, and charges could be filed very soon.

Stallworth, per the source, was driving a Bentley.  As our own Aaron Wilson discovered while chasing the tip we'd received (yeah, we were responsible and tried to confirm before posting . . . for a change), Stallworth was arrested in 2006 while driving a Bentley.

Man, if I were Stallworth and I was driving, I'd start thinking about keeping away from Bentleys

I bet the Browns are sick and tired of dealing with Bentleys.

Damn...this is the article on the incident and it has the video of Stallworth being issued his field sobriety test...and in the background you can see the EMT's working on the guy he hit.

Burn, sucker!

But, seriously, even if this isn't a criminal problem, Stallworth is going to have to deal with a civil suit of massive proportions.  ALL FORMER PLAYERS MUST BE MOCKED.

QuoteREPORT: STALLWORTH'S BAC WAS 0.12 PERCENT
Posted by Mike Florio on March 19, 2009, 4:43 p.m.

Things aren't looking good for Browns receiver Donte' Stallworth.

According to the Miami Herald, Stallworth's blood-alcohol concentration was 0.12 percent after the incident that claimed the life of Mario Reyes.

A source with knowledge of the investigation tells us that Stallworth's blood was taken twice — once after the accident and again an hour later.  It's not known whether the 0.12 percent result arises from the earlier test or the later one.

We previously have reported that prosecutors are ready to file DUI manslaughter charges against Stallworth, pending the results of the blood test.

A source with knowledge of the investigation told us on Saturday that Stallworth admitted to drinking at least four Patrons and two Margaritas.  Another source said Stallworth claimed that he had his last drink at midnight.

The collision occurred after 7:00 a.m. local time

Holy shtein, these guys are farging retarded.  TAKE A CAB?  HAVE A PERMANENT LIMO DRIVER?

I hope he gets the chair.

Rome

He was going from mainland Miami over the causeway to the beachside.  It's a 10 dollar cab ride at most.  It's going to cost him millions, plus his career, plus he's probably going to go to jail for 10 years.

Nice job, Donte.

Dude, it would have been $10 back to get his car in the morning.  Plus, maybe a $25 parking ticket.

Times are tough.
