Former New England Patriots running back David Meggett faces another rape charge in South Carolina.

Authorities say Meggett was arrested Tuesday and charged with raping a 21-year-old woman in her North Charleston home.

Meggett was free on bail for charges of raping a 17-year-old in September in North Charleston. He was serving probation for a 2006 sexual battery charge in North Carolina.

The 42-year-old was being held Wednesday in the Charleston County jail on charges of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and first-degree burglary. It was unclear if he had an attorney.

Meggett lives in Summerville. The running back played 10 seasons in the NFL with the Patriots, New York Jets and New York Giants.
