QB Eagles

There's still nothing about that from any kind of official news source. Eckel went to Episcopal Academy so it could be another cheesy attempt to put local people on the team.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

was james joseph not available?

After I got sick of Ricky Watters, I tore the name plate off the back of my jersey and replace it with "Joseph". True story.

Patriots leftovers=gold standard
I really liked Eckel coming out of navy but knew the eagles wouldnt waste a pick on him since he had is Navy Commitement

The Eagles solidified the fullback position Tuesday, signing former Patriot Kyle Eckel to a two-year contract. To make room for Eckel, the team released safety J.R. Reed. Dan Klecko, who started at fullback against the 49ers, will remain at fullback.

Eckel, a Philadelphia native, played college football at Navy and high school football at Episcopal Academy in Merion, Pa. While at Episcopal, where he was honored as a first-team all-city selection as a senior, joining Chicago Bears running back Kevin Jones in the backfield.

While at Navy, Eckel thrived in the Midshipmen's signature triple option offense. For his career, he rushed for 2,906 yards and 25 touchdowns, both fourth in school history, and he rushed for over 1,000 yards in both his junior and senior seasons.

Despite bouncing around training camps with the Dolphins and Patriots since leaving the military in October of 2006, Eckel saw his first game action in 2007, where he ran the ball 33 times for 90 yards and two touchdowns, while also registering 12 special-teams tackles.

Why keep Considine and cut Reed?

At least Reed can still tackle.

It's gotta be all about job creation

rjs246

JR Reed, professional football player, cannot feel his foot.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

They also released Jed Collins from the PS and signed OT Nevin McCaskill

PhillyPhreak54

JR Reed.  :'(

Nevin. They signed a guy named Nevin.

General_Failure

Reed will be back as soon as someone on the coaching staff drinks enough to take Dawkins out behind the barn to shoot him.

The man. The myth. The legend.
