Ahh, spring time in St. Louis...  grass is green, the trees are budding, the birds out out early to catch worms..   and it's farging snowing right now.  Big, fat, flakes of snow.

God damned global warming....

So you made faces behind his back the rest of the night?

He's blind.  Make faces in front of him.

Had free passes to the Star Wars exhibit at the Franklin Institute so the g/f and I checked it out after the game. They had costumes from the original films and small scale replicas of a lot of the vehicles, it was really crowded and I wanted to punt every kid I saw. The women with strollers and iceholes taking 10 pictures at every exhibit were annoying too. There's a millenium falcon cockpit thing that shows you the universe but it was an hour and a half wait so we said farg it. All in all it was cool but I actually liked the Egypt exhibit more.

That was a great article, good to see that may be a model for other communities.

I'd like to see cities/towns that aren't having growth problems embrace a similar idea.   Of course, that's not going to happen.  Growth and expansion is always looked at as being progressive but that's not always the case.  In many cases it may actually be a step backwards.

Still, it's good to see the people in Youngstown thinking outside of the box a little and trying to do what's best for the people currently living there rather than spending money in trying to attract people from other areas.

For John Kanzius it began with a simple idea, some pots and pans and even a hot dog! Now, the Kanzius machine, which generates radio waves, has developed into a possible breakthrough in cancer research. Clinical trials on humans are still years away, but as Lesley Stahl reports, the results thus far have caught the attention of cancer researchers across the country.

Blockbuster offering $1.3B for Circuit City

I still use blockbuster online over Netflix, and go to the BB store about twice a month to swap my online movie for a rental from there (not really a rental, since it's free).  But, there's no way the BB stores can stay for the long term.  Downloads, Netflix, RedBox...  all the death of the video store.

On the other hand, is there a worse electronics store than Circuit City?

I understand BB trying to make a splash, but I don't see this as helping them long term.

I think their only real competition is Best Buy and while I can't say I'm really pleased with either store, I've never really had a problem when it comes to Circuit City.  I've always found them to be priced lower than Best Buy and their sales people seem to be a little more patient with my techie questions.  Any time I ask a question in Best Buy I feel like I'm talking to Nick Burns.

In the long run, who cares though?  They're both corporate whores who gladly keep taking the money I gladly hand over to them.
