Nah, we were more scared of Gore than Barack.  Gore was and is a single-agenda guy that would cripple any industry at the first hint of environmental concerns.  Obama's the most intelligent legitimate candidate in a long time, so that at least has to count for something.

Again, you're assuming most people care about the fact that he's brownish, and I don't disagree that plenty of inbred idiots will be voting for McCain because they've convinced themselves Obama could be a terrorist plant (OMG his middle name is Hussein!).  But for every white person that votes against him due to race, there will be at least one black person that does the opposite.

ice grillin you

it has more to do with him being about the most liberal senator we have than skin color but best believe skin color factors in...

another big factor is that he is able to bring out so many new voters from the lleft (ie blacks and young people) and steal some people from the moderate right

thats why this race card will be played till full tilt...so that he doesnt look like a uniter anymore but rather an afro centric far left democrat
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

im the board pharmacist....always one step above yous

PoopyfaceMcGee

The thing is that he's both.  Just like George Bush's "uniter, not a divider" stuff, Obama is the same way in that he welcomes more people to change their opinions and fundamental beliefs to follow him.

It's really just empty rhetoric, but I think the end result is that all the racists will vote along the party lines they usually vote anyway (whitey for the elephant, dark-skinned for the donkey).  The difference will be made in getting the middle-of-the-road people swayed one way or the other, and I think McCain's age will hurt him every bit as much as Obama's race, if not more.

If Obama isn't our next President it will be a disaster for this country, probably about as big a disaster it was "electing" Bush. I think this would likely finish the U.S.'s spin around the toilet. With the coming Long Emergency, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Long_Emergency , we might already be done for already. I see Obama as being our only hope.

Anyhow, I'm still looking forward to seeing whether Philadelphia and the Philadelphia suburbs wil match the support that the (totally racist) D.C. and D.C. suburbs gave Obama.

It's the skins fans that are racist.  Not the geogprahic area.

So, you heard something on the radio, and that means the whole "right wing attack machine" is all over the situation and is in "full force"?

Gotcha.

I'm not saying anything negative about Obama. Just saying that the Right wingnuts are using his speech to try and carry out a character assassination. I'm not really sure why my opinion based on what I've seen or heard today would threaten you or your opinion of Obama. I'm against what they're doing. Are we supposed to deny anything negative because you all support him and want him to win? You have to acknowledge the reality of the situation good or bad. Otherwise your just drinking the coolaide and have become no better then the right wingnuts on the other side who worship Rush and Hannity.

Hahaha.  Touche'.

Is 8 more months of a skins fan's life worth it for one more vote for Obama?

No.

30 miles north and west of Philly might as well be farging Alabama.

who let that racist out of the racists thread?
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

FF is probably the most fiscally conservative person on this board.  I am probably the most socially conservative on this board.

We've both said we favor Obama over both Clinton and McCain.

This flap over Wright hasn't changed that opinion for either one of us.  Obama is, to me, the best candidate when all factors are considered.

I also agree with FF that Gore scared me much more than Obama or Clinton.  He was an environmental zealout - over all other issues.
