The irony is that the FO put the 2 year bonus in to prevent TO from being an icehole - hey, if we can put up with you for two years, you cash in.  Everyone knew that was why the roster bonus was there.

There is only one reason TO blew up and farged everything up in Philly: Drew Rosenhaus.
An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

MadMarchHare

They should have cut his stupid ass.  That would have been better than the distraction, even if he went somewhere's else.  Just cut him late in TC.  His contract was designed for that contingency, knowing he was an icehole.
Anyone but Reid.

no they put a one year deal in to let themselves get out if thats what they wished....once TO had the best season any eagle had had in 80 years and broke his ass to get back for the super bowl he wanted a little more money....the eagles had the option to pay him that little more money or play hard ball...they chose to play hard ball

Revisionist history rules.

T.O. signed the motherfarging contract and so did the Eagles.  There was no arm-twisting going on.  The Eagles acted entirely properly and no blame whatsoever should be laid at their feet.  NONE.

TO signed a contract that he had no choice but to sign...granted that was his own fault because of his actions in sf...but still it wasnt as tho he had six other teams offering him more money and he chose the birds...he did what he had to do...and then he far out performed that deal...no the eagles had no obligation to pay him more after that first year but they also could have easily justified it because of his peformance and they decided not to

its a tough call and hindisght is 20/20....its a tough call because TO is one of the biggest dickheads ever to play sports...and ill fully admit thats the way i feel...at the same time joe banner might be the biggest dickhead to ever work in a pro sports franchise....so tit for tat right?

Article by Reuben Frank - I agree completely.

Quote...And let's face it, if the Eagles can't beat the slop that is the 2007 Jets, they don't deserve to be taken seriously. The Jets are 31st in the NFL running the ball, 25th best stopping the run, 27th throwing the ball, 27th stopping the pass, 21st at protecting the quarterback, 30th at sacking the quarterback.

There are no excuses anymore. Brian Westbrook should be his old self today against a defense that has no way to stop him. Tra Thomas is healthy and back at left tackle. The Eagles are coming off a bye, a situation they've never lost in under Reid.

They can't lose to this team without seriously examining the long-term direction of the franchise.

And that's why this is a must-win. A loss today doesn't just damage the Eagles' 2007 playoff hopes, it really calls into question everything about this team. The coach, the general manager, the quarterback, the players.

Everything.

Because if the Eagles can't beat the Jets, they can't beat anybody.

Amen.
