Eagles/Jets in blue.   :-D

Fortunately, Pats-Cowboys is the afternoon game.  I don't think I'd win that argument with the wife.

"But the Jets-Eagles is the bigger game!"  :-D

awesome that Lito and Dawkins are ruled out for this week. It only gets better and better for this team

are you sure about Lito?  everything I read was that he was probable for Sunday

per KFFL:

QuoteEagles | Sheppard probable for Week 6
Mon, 8 Oct 2007 11:29:23 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles CB Lito Sheppard (knee) will probably play Week 6, according to team sources.

when I posted that, Rotoworld had them already ruled as out for week 6. Now I go back on it to find it, and they changed what they wrote to cover up.

MDS

indications are that sheppard probably wont play from what ive heard. im special.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

I think the Jets  also have everyone has the coaching advantage.

I'll be there.  And if I go, the Eagles lose.  It just happens that way.

So, with that, I predict:
Eagles: 24
Jets: 20

westbrook was just on wip and they were asking him about the money he has to pay back the team....apparently he hasnt done it yet because the amount hasnt been determined.....so morganti asks him how it works now with checks...like is he still getting paid...westbrook says i dont like to talk about my money...all ill say is when my teammates are getting checks each week im not a happy man

this front office is sickening.....its one thing to want the money if they indeed are owed it and even filing a grievance or going to an arbitrator to find out what exactly is owed...but to hold someones checks back is ridiculous and just reinforces the notion in the locker room and around the league that this front office is a bunch of penny pinching cocks

i always thought the reason this team has become so non descript and not fun to watch was because of the non athletic non playmaking players andy worships....but another reason the team is so vanuilla and unemotional is because many of them dont care about the people they play for

the more time goes on the more ive come around to the thinking that they should have just paid TO a few more million to make him happy....no way do i defend the way TO acted but more and more i shift the blame on banner for the whole thing blowing up the way it did

You're giving me de ja vu, I was thinking about this the other day when I was listening to Westbrook and this whole deal. I know they set a precedent that they wouldn't renegotiate a players deal, but if they would have kept things quiet and restructured his deal so that his contract was guaranteed for more than the first two seasons that whole fiasco never happens. Granted TO deserves 99% of the blame especially for running out and hiring Rosenhaus but still the Eagles handled things poorly.

Revisionist history rules.

T.O. signed the motherfarging contract and so did the Eagles.  There was no arm-twisting going on.  The Eagles acted entirely properly and no blame whatsoever should be laid at their feet.  NONE.

Wrong. They knew he was a loose cannon when they signed him. The Eagles didnt have to give him more money, what he wanted was a guarantee that he wouldn't be cut after the 2nd year of his deal. If the Eagles weren't so stubborn in their ways they easily could have kept things on the dl and reworked his contract (which happens all the time in the NFL)...which was all he wanted.
Of course, its been 2 years and I'm just reflecting on what could have or should have happened which is much easier to do. But to say the Eagles should have no blame whatsoever is false. You don't sign a guy with a history like TO has and think everything is going to be peaches and cream.

Wingspan

They traded for TO, and then reworked his existing contract.

Then TO wanted to rework it less than 1 year later.

Option A: Be stubborn and let him tear the team apart after making the SB the previous season knowing that he's the type of player that would do so
Option B: Rework the deal so that he gets more guaranteed money and possibly make the SB again

Like I said before this is all hindsight but when reflecting on the situation now I think its obvious there were other options than to just brush him off and say tough shtein.
