Maybe me moving is a good thing...I won't be a glutton for punishment and watch this slop every night then.

Ha.

i'm all the way across the pacific and i can't escape it.  no matter where you go, where you hide, how far you run, they will find you.  the phillies know where you are, every minute of the day.

thank you. please lose 7 in a row so this abortion of a season just ends and we can focus on the abortion across the street in midnight green.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

the minute they got off to the slow start (again) you knew it was the same dog team....oh and also because they brought back the same dog manager and dog players

Yeah, we already knew how they blew it.  On April 18, they were 3-10.  Even at 6-7. they're in the wild card lead.

They put themselve behind the 8-ball.  Again.  But April games don't count.

Standard Phils season:
- Horrible offseason signings
- Bad pitching
- Awful Bullpen
- Slow start
- Play well enough through the year to keep the fans interested
- Falter down the stretch
- Finish with 86 wins
- Players vow to make the playoffs next season
Rinse repeat

Next season will be no different unless they get a GM with some imagination, cause there's no starting pitching to be had in free agency.

I remember like it was yesterday them blowing it in April and saying "we're only a month into the season". The frustrating thing was they hadn't learned from years past that the extremely slow start was ultimately their downfall.

its not the gm, manager, players, little league ballpark. its ownership. they want to make a profit, first and foremost. winning a title is secondary to them. they werent making much money at the vet, and made the excuse that they cant compete financially in that ballpark. so the city built them a new one. with that ballpark, they are making a lot of money. to make sure people go, they signed jim thome and eventually established a core of utley, rollins, howard, hamels and myers that will at the least keep them in wild card contention until september. and thats good enough to get a bunch of people to go to the games during the year, thus making money.

theyll make some moves here and there to excite everyone over the winter (rowand, garcia, millwood...), but its just sugarcoating things to keep interest levels high and to sell tickets. they wont go the extra mile to win a title and are content with 86 win teams that might fall ass backwards into a playoff spot one of these years.

until monty and co. sell the team, they will never win anything. just look at this pitching staff, they have no prayer in the world and they know it. if ownership cared, they wouldve added salary at the deadline and gone balls to wall to win the title. but whatever, getting babaro and wife beater back was "our trade." we wouldve made the playoffs the last 2 seasons if we were in the nba or nhl. injuries are hurting us. bla bla bla. same old bullshtein every year. the organization was a joke in 1883 and it still is in 2007. there is no hope. give up. its not happening.

4-3 Phillies after 1 inning

Durbin pulled after 1+ (1st and 2nd, no outs) for Geary.  Durbin should go away.

I have a feeling you'll soon get your wish.

Up 11-4 in the 7th, Alfonseca tries to drill Todd Helton in the face with a fastball and gets ejected  :-D

Phillies scored 6 runs in the opener.  Win.

Phillies scored 2 & 0 in the next two games.  Losses.

Phillies score 11 so far tonight - winning.

The pitching staff has surrendered a mind-boggling 29 runs in three-plus games, yet amazingly, they still have a chance to split the series.

Imagine for a moment that this horseshtein team had even a scintilla of pitching.
