When I say poor, I'm talking about before they join.  We all know that once you join, you're made for life.

It's a toss up as well.  I would say that when you're talking about the people who go into combat arms related fields, then you're probably more right than wrong.  But there are plenty of middle class and even upper class kids who join too.  But most of them do it for the experience rather than necessity.

If I die my kids get $450,000 and it only costs me like $20 a month.  Can't really beat that.

On the train the other day, I successfully convinced one of these creatures that the Iraq war was started because the Iraq ambassador parked in Bush's space at the white house.
