How "serious" of a shooter are you?  Are you shooting in leagues or tournaments or just looking for something to take with the pool hall with you so you don't have to use a house stick?

I've been shooting since I was 12, but never in a league or tournament until the last couple years after my divorce. There are a few guys in my league who sell sticks, from a hundred to 5-6 hundred. For that much cash I want the best deal possible.

Shorebird, a few extra tips.....

When buying a cue there's a few things you need to consider:

1.  The weight and whether or not the cue can have weight added or taken away.

2.  The length.  You want to make sure that the cue isn't too long or short for you.

3.  The grip/wrap.  Make sure that the grip or wrap on the butt is something that you're comfortable with.

4.  The tip size.  Depending on your style of play, the size and shape of the tip will affect your ability to control the cue ball.

Here's some of the top makers of pool cues.  Compare the factory prices to what you're seeing on ebay.

Sarge, what do you think of this guys cues?

Price seems good on them but I've never heard of Nevada Cues.  I did a google search on them but they don't have a website.  I would definately ask the seller some questions in regards to the manufactorer and their history.

Personally, pool cues are one of the few things I won't buy online.  It's one of those things that I prefer to get a hands on feel for before buying.  I want to see how the weight is distributed through out the cue, how the finish feels, etc, etc.  But that's just me.

Good luck.

I've never heard of them either. Seems if he's Las Vegas Billiard Supply, he might be making them himself. He has a lot of positive feedback on them. I'm still waiting for an answer to some questions.

I saw two people from New Jersey (Holman - Mount Laurel) at the 7/11 this morning dressed from head to toe in NASCAR crap.

They were driving the largest Ford pickup truck I've ever seen and had just gotten in to town for the races and were picking up cases of beer.  The wife saw my Eagles hat I was wearing and for a second I thought she was gonna do the Eagles cheer.   Thankfully, she didn't.   :paranoid

Anyway, I got in line and her husband asked me if I was from Philly.  I said 'yeah, I live here now, though,' and he told me he and his wife were season ticket holders for the Birds but they just lovvvvvvvvvved NASCAR.

Kill me, please.  KILL ME NOW!
