NFLPA needs to STFU.  They should be calling for a greater punishment in support of Gurode, who is the man they should be protecting.

Agreed.

If that happened on the street it would be considered assault. I read somewhere that Fisher was going to wait and see what punishment he was dealt and then handle it from there, which I can kinda see.....let them make a statement first and then send your message to your team.  I read a buncha articles with Haynesworth saying he's not a dirty player.....its not like him....but it is what it is I guess.

Haynesworth has proven himself to be less than upstanding a few times before this.  But prior history is irrelevant.  He should be fired and charged with assault.  Just like I would be if I did this.

I'm going to guess that there's something in the CBA that will not allow Fisher to add additional punishment on top of the five games.

In reality, this guy needs to be cut and blackballed.

General_Failure

Conduct detrimental to the team. Sounds like a good reason to suspend him to me.

Albert Haynesworth suspended 5 games per NFL Network.  No word on any additional fines.

His 1st game back will be against the Eagles Nov. 19th.

Mort says that it'll end up costing him almost $500,000... nearly $95,000 per game check.

But he'll still make $1.1M for the seaon AFTER the suspension.  That just don't add up.

One game per stitch. That's not a bad deal.

Good luck to him. He was a nice guy. One of my favorites here. Didn't bitch - just played football.

I'll take a guess and assume you mean me, since I'm one of the people calling for Haynesworth to be fired and jailed?  How does he deserve less?  Surely, if you attacked someone like this at work, you too would be fired and arrested?  Should you be spared criminal charges or termination from your workplace because you happened to make an awful decision one day?
