Albert Haynesworth suspended 5 games per NFL Network.  No word on any additional fines.

His 1st game back will be against the Eagles Nov. 19th.

Vince Young is going to be great.  Not exactly an easy first game against the Dallas D, especially with the garbage team he's on.

That's simply not enough.  If I did that, I'd have been fired.  Stomping on someone's head has as much to do with football as it does with software implementation.  The least they should do is send him home for the rest of the season.  If I were the commish, I'd fire his ass.

i would be much more upset had it no been against the cowboys

Diomedes

It wasn't against the Cowboys.  It was against Andre Gurode.  The attack didn't even affect the outcome of the game.  There's nothing to like about it from my perspective.

Hoyda NFL.  Probably afraid of the NFLPA/courts.

I agree.  It's pathetic that a player can get as many games (or one less) for accidentally taking a supplement with some kind of banned substance (I know, he should be aware of what's going into his body), but only gets that many for trying to injure an opponent.

Fired would have been the least of your worries, right after Victim's Latin Girlfriend Cuts You.

The man. The myth. The legend.

farg the NFL.  The real Hoyda here is the Memphis DA's office.  That farger should be in jail.
Anyone but Reid.

Diomedes

That too.  Fired and jailed.  Just as the rest of us would be if we did that.

Mort says that it'll end up costing him almost $500,000... nearly $95,000 per game check.

As expected, the NFLPA is pissed off about the suspension and is beginning to fight it. Excellent publicity for the labor movement, I'm sure.

Diomedes

NFLPA needs to STFU.  They should be calling for a greater punishment in support of Gurode, who is the man they should be protecting.

Yeah, really. Isn't it the duty of the NFLPA to protect the guy who got his head stomped in, too? I guess they value an uninterrupted cash flow more than a safe work environment.
