I think it is very possibly that Greg is outta here. Thankfully.

I know Lewis stunk it up last year but what's the deal with all the Lewis hating?  He was thrown into an awkward situation imo.  It's bad enough when you have a young, inexperienced player shoved into the starting role because of injury but on top of that, there was the whole TO debacle.

I'm not campaigning for Lewis to start.  I think he's best suited at this point to be a back up.  But I think he's a very capable back up with a lot of upside to him.

I was fine with him in 2004 because he was in the role that suited him - a #4 guy who makes the occasional big play and who busts it on special teams.

But last year he was exposed. And he was a guy who gave LITTLE effort on several passes that he should've caught but they turnedinto INTs, incompletions or drops by him. And once his boy TO was let go, he turned into a bitch. He stopped coming on Daily news Live even though he was paid to do so.

I was excited to see what he could do last year, but I don't want him back. Not unless his vadge is done ooozing and he's ready to fight for balls and make plays.

McCants doesn't make the team over Greg Lewis though.  If getting Baskett endangers anyone's spot on the team... it's McCants.

Remember Kevin Dyson?  He's the last semi-decent WR I can remember to tear his achilles tendon, in 2003.

Since then, he's caught 2 balls for 15 yards.  He's now out of football after failing to catch on with the skins last year.

He was going into his 6th season when he tore it, just like Pinkston.

I dunno, man. I think Big Red likes McCants a lot.

Lies.

EDIT:  Clarification - he had only 2.5 sacks during the regular season and seemed to come alive during the playoffs.  Then, he had 16 sacks the following season.  It's fair to say he wasn't really full speed until well after a year after the injury.

Plus, he's not a WR that is only good at going long.

PhillyPhreak54

He was full speed in 2005. He just blew out his sternum and only had 2.5 sacks. Then he chases down Ronnie Mex a few times, gets a wad of cash from Death and BOOM! has 16 sacks.

What Vikes fans are saying

QuoteGreat, McMahon, Hicks, Leber, now this. If this guy couldnt start over the jokes on the Eagles roster why even consider him?

I guess I shouldnt say anything, since I'm obviously not as brilliant as Childress and Foley. Or I'd have a job...zaaaah? What's that? Foley no longer has a job? Yeah, that's what I thought.

McMahon to McMullen! Super bowl or bust.

*yawn* Why don't they bring in a GM whose friends with Wilf, or better yet, his brother, while they're playing stack the organization with friends of friends who know a friend?

QuoteSounds like he might have a shot at pushing Travis Taylor, though. Sounds like he'd fit into a WCO fairly well

This guy is a genius. Hey, moron! Childress runs the WCO....Childres used to work for the Eagles who run a WCO...Wilbur was on the Eagles and played in the WCO.

Moron.

Is there any chance they could put Pinkston on the PUP?  Because no matter how I think about this trade it just doesn't make much sense.

Baskett has PS written all over him.

I disagree. If he goes to the PS, why wouldnt Minne scoop him right back up?

Actually, if a player is contacted by another team while on the PS, he doesn't have to go. Case in point: In 2002, after Feeley was cut and waived a couple of times, the Eagles put him on the PS--the Bears wanted to sign him, but he told his agent he wasn't interested in leaving Philly--he was comfortable with the organization, his teammates, his coaches and the offense. Additionally, I couldn't see Baskett wanting to go back to Minny--by the interview he did in this morning's papers, he's disappointed in Minny trading him only after one minicamp. Another player with a chip on his shoulder.

As for McMullen, I think he took the wrong mental approach after the Cowboys' game in 2003 in Dallas. That was when, after falling behind 23-21, and getting a KOR to near midfield, the Eagles were trying to move into position to give Akers a shot to win the game. McMullen was in for an injured Pinky, was wide open on the left sideline, and McNabb hit him right in the numbers--only for him to drop it. According to Merrill on the radio broadcast, if he'd made the catch on the Cowboy 35, he had another 20 yards of clear sailing because no one was around him. Reid toook him out of that game and you didn't see him for the rest of the regular season. But, it seemed, instead of bucking up and showing what kind of reciever he could be, he just shrivelled up in the corner and was a non factor--lost his confidence.
