Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

DGunn says the deal is for $12.5M.  No breakdown on signing bonus or anything yet...

rjs246

Average of just over 4/year? Ha. Jesus Christ this team is run by some penny pinching motherfargers.

Nice. :yay

The average of the deal jives with what Caplan said yesterday. The SB is also reported to be what he said Runyan would likely get ($5.25M SB is what he got).

Now they put Herremans at LG and Jackson at C and we have ourselves a strong OL.

you hope.

don't forget that an offensive line with 2 new starters will take time to jell.  and with the wideouts they have, hello zero coverage.
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

But they aren't a true "new OL". Herremans and Jackson played a lot last year with Andrews and Runyan. The only guy who they didn't get a lot of time with was Tra.

And a dedication to the running game + McNabb running more = zero coverage beaters.

Man, Phreak has really been all happy happy joy joy of late.  He must be getting laid regularly.

good move. I'm not sure about Herremans at LG, but Jackson played well at C. The run blocking was vastly improved with him in the lineup.

Quote DON'T FOLLOW THE MONEY ...

When players say it's not about the money, it's always about the money. At least, almost always.

For once, it's absolutely true. Offensive tackle Jon Runyan faced two choices today: He could re-sign with Philadelphia, accepting the Eagles' three-year, $12.5 million contract; or he could defect to the New York Jets, who were willing to pay Runyan double the money in the first year of the contract and millions more over the life of it.

But Runyan couldn't do it. He couldn't leave the home he was building in Mt. Laurel, N.J., for the Jets' training complex on Long Island. He couldn't leave the Philadelphia market in which he felt so comfortable. And he couldn't leave behind his three kids while he commuted to Long Island.

New York general manager Mike Tannenbaum even asked Runyan in a telephone conversation today if there were any way the Jets could do anything to get the offensive tackle to agree to sign. When Runyan said no, his talks with the Jets were off and his deal with the Eagles was on.

Imagine if this was DC, Skins fans would be all over him calling him a team guy and consuamte Gibbs player.

We call him too lazy to move to NY.

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

:-D

You could say that. Plus I got a new job too. But if they would've let Runyan walk I would've been closer to the Darkside and ripping the FO a little bit.

Excellent and true observation there.
