Japanese runner called out for leaving a fraction of a second too soon.

A-Rod's single up the middle nearly snagged by the second baseman.  Not sure he would have had a play, though.

Close win. Lots of calls went against the US, but the biggest call went their way.

So, think the umps wanted to maintain interest in the tourney? A guy got called for leaving third early after initially being called safe on the protest? Definitely legit. They definitely didn't have any vested interest in keeping the US team alive. Right?
