Unreal.  One giant spurt of offense and then nothing.

Plus the pitching was horrendous for the U.S. team in the beginning of the game.

Well, it looks like they're going to have to destroy South Africa on Friday just to stay alive in the tournament.

Tonight is Mexico vs South Africa.  If Mexico wins, USA just needs to beat South Africa to advance to the next round...

not true, if mexico wins and then beats canada and usa beats south africa:

mexico canada and usa all 2-1. one beat another beat another. tiebreaker is era. so lets hope those lethal south african bats are cold.

Funniest part is that they appealed once, and the runner was ruled safe.  Then Martinez argued, the umpires got together, and reversed the call.

Perhaps it makes up for some shoddy ball-and-strike calls by the home plate ump.  Just awful.
