The defense has been horribly inconsistant this year.  Some of it's JJ some of it's the players.  Here's some of the things they've done this year:

Allowed over 20 points in the first half in 3 games (Den, Dal, KC)
Given up more plays of 40+ yards through 7 games than the did all of last year.
Given up 30+ points in a game more times this year than they did all of last year.

I know there's more than that but this is just off the top of my head.  Too lazy to look up the rest.  But I'm certain that if you look at red zone td's allowed, take aways, passes of 40+ yards and sacks, this defense probably isn't on the same level as they've been in previous years either.

no one is going to say the defense has been stellar but come on they get put in ridiculous situations every time out...the field position they face is out of control

that said can we get some linebackers on this team...adams and dhani are a disgrace...btw speaking of adams why does that scab get a nickname....

bullet???

gimme a break

He should be called bullet because it's easy to deflect out of the way. Whenever he faces a blocker he gets sprung out of the way at the speed a bullet gets deflected. He's all small and weak.  :-D

But expect to have these same problems next year since Andy won't bring in any big-time players.

The defense is Jim Johnson's call. He wanted little guys that are allegedly fast, that's what he got.

The offense and their horrible lackluster attitude has finally rub off on the defense.  Dawkins can only get the defense crunked so much.  When you walk off the field and see the faces of all your idiot offensive players...you lose some passion for the game right there.
When you're riding in a time machine way far into the future, don't stick your elbow out the window, or it'll turn into a fossil.

hopefully this year will be a reality check for andy and will knock his god complex down a notch or two

its amazing how he is like doesnt matter who we lose or dont get it will all work out in the end...even tho its been proven that when you lose in the superbowl the chances are your team is going to fall off hard...but not andys...just come back with 47 undrafted free agents and 12 mil under th cap and well be right back where we belong...wtf? you fat pice of crap...youre not GOD!!!

There's probably some truth to that.  When the offense got on a roll, the d got fired up.  As soon as the offense turned it over, the defense went flat.

However, when the d gives up another td on the first series of the game (again) I'm not going to blame that on the offense since they haven't even been on the field.

It's a two way street. Why should the offense get fired up when they have to start in a hole?

totally agree...classic moment is when momentum was all on the eagles tip and the defense balled up hard...the birds drove down and donovan throws that horrendous int you could just see game over at that point...the d is like what more do we have to do...we worked them four straight possesions and give you the ball in a money spot and yopu thow a horribile pick...end of game....

What was up with that guy on that pick, anyway? He had no farging idea what to do once he caught the ball.

The offense hasn't started a game with a productive drive yet this year, even when they played the first series.

Well they farged up plain and simple. I'm sick of hearing all the excuses about how the Eagles could do no wrong. I just can't believe Mike Mcmahon was the big FA signing. This team is so cheap in free agency and we could use some help right now. I'm just so sick right now it pisses me off, and what is this team going to do next year? I mean, what is this team going to do next year if they decide to let TO go. They will turn into the 2004 taterskins offense. On top of that this whole issue with Westbrook is there. If I were Westbrook I wouldn't want to come back. He's not getting to run the ball nearly enough.

I just can't see how this team can let these players go in the offseason if they are sane. I'm not just concerned about this year I'm concerned about our future as well. I guess it's too early to look ahead though but I can't help it I'm angry and I'm pondering a lot of things about this team.

Anyway on Ray Didinger made a great point on Post game live today. He said last year Plummer played very mediocre football. They asked Plummer to do too much. This year Plummer is playing great, and they have an amazingly balanced offense. Then you look at McNabb and the team throws the ball 50 times a game and McNabb looks like trash. Last year he looked great. You need some type of balance. You need to put your QB in a good situation. McNabb has some blame, but right now IMO it's 75/25 in favor of Reid. If he continues this pass happy shtein for the rest of the season and we miss the playoffs then he deserves to be fired. There is just absolutely no excuse.

So when we kick off the defense gets preemptively depressed?

yep the o has been hideous from the get...and its not like you expect a score right off the bat but could you possibly get a few first downs so to at least hang in the field postiton battle

Do you ever see the offense fired up on the sideline?  No...only the defensive guys.  I'm saying that their piss poor attitude has rub off some on the defense.

I mean look at last week.  The defense gave a top notch performance and the offense couldn't do a damn thing.  The ST had to bail out the offense.   Had it not been for that...we'd be 3-4 right now.

Somethin has gotta give and soon.  Fire someone...cut someone...light a fire under the asses of the offense.
