OXNARD, Calif. - Cowboys first-round selection, defensive lineman Marcus Spears, injured his right leg during morning practice on Friday.

Spears was placed on a cart and taken from the field.

"It doesn't look good," said Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones.

Jones said Spears would have an MRI exam conducted on his ankle, knee and groin.

The incident occured during team drills. It appeared that a player rolled over Spears' right leg on play where running back Anthony Thomas took a handoff over the right side of the line.

"It's part of the game, unfortunately," said veteran defensive lineman La'Roi Glover. "It's very disappointing to see one of the guys you were going to lean on go down."

I have a friend that is a Cowboys fans and he left me a message about it in my voice mail laughing at me. Too bad about Spears, I left a sympathetic but spiteful message in his voice mail.
