Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Neghandi - pride of Phoenixville

I heard he big times everyone when he goes back home

Geowhizzer

I can't get the Sixers game on my NBA package because it's a "local" game.

I can't get the Sixers game on my DirecTV package because it's not a "local" sports channel.

I am 200 miles from Orlando.

:boom

Don Ho

That's as bad as MLB calling Mariners, A's, Giants, Dodgers, Angels, Padres Hawaii their home market.  After I pay my $200+ for MLB.TV
"Well where does Jack Lord live, or Don Ho?  That's got to be a nice neighborhood"  Jack Singer(Nicholas Cage) in Honeymoon in Vegas.

Don Ho

I live in that lovely suburb in Orange County called Honolulu.

All that blackout and local market shtein needs to get got.

Where's Teevee Todd to Defend it?

MDS

nobody defends it

there are certain areas that local markerts claim that mlbtv or nbatv then blacks out but the games are not available for people to watch on cable. the teams want the real estate and the league steers clear and lets them claim what they want. it sucks.

in geo's case, the game might be available on a different cable package other than the one he has. in philly, for example, comcast sportsnet is still not available on directv/dish so if you have that you cant watch sports basically

I live in Houston and cannot watch the Rangers.

That makes no sense.

Nor can I watch the Astros bc I have the package via YouTube TV

MDS

the rangers thing im not sure about...their markets should not overlap. when i lived in the valley i got both teams but outside of h-town and the metroplex its no mans land and teams can claim what they want. except for the teams that share markets, they are not allowed to go into someone elses territory

the astors thing is simple. youtube tv does not have a deal with whoever airs astros games. i remember covering the csn houston debacle and can confirm nobody there gives a shtein about the astros

Back then no one gave a shtein. I used to get Phils tickets for $12 six rows off the field.

Bandwagon has been in full effect for the last several years tho.

Last Friday we went out for a few beers. People at the place we were at were cheering for the dumbest shtein.  Every fly ball they thought was gone. Embarrassing

MDS

if the team is good people will go but nobody is spending their summer nights watching it on tv like it is in the east coast

if comcast or verizon didnt have phils/sixers/flyers games they wouldnt be able to exist in the market. where as in houston they tried to bribe me to write nice things about them so people would want to watch the astros

I agree with that.

Phillies were and are appointment TV for me from the time I was 8. Especially when Harry and Whitey were on the call.

Not many in houston is going to their grandpops to sit down and watch a game on a random august night.

But when the playoffs rolls around they're in the park wooooo'ing like Ric Flair for Josh Reddick

MDS

nobody defends h-town quite like hentz lol

That was a defense?

Not even close. I'm just here to make money. Ain't no Htown love
