with the caveat that they are trying to win right now when you consider payroll...roster talent....system talent and how far they are away from being able to win a championship the Phillies have to be the worst franchise in all of pro sports

factor in they have been building towards a championship for almost ten years they sit in one of the most pathetic positions I've ever seen for a sports franchise

i feel like the texas rangers might be worse...but its pretty negligible. definitely some nba teams like the bullets or hornets that are completely hopeless, too. but the phillies are most certainly up there.

they wont do it but a fire sale really makes sense. youd have a chance to be very good in 2024/2025, division shouldnt be as stacked then, and all youd have on the books is whatever % of bryce's contract youd have to eat. load up for ferny tatis leggo.

i dont know the rangers system or really the talent on their roster but i do know their payroll is shtein compared to the phillies

most of those people have to make like 50-70k a year...something like that. this is like 5.5 million in salary. he is worth 4 billion. the business is suffering for like 1-2 years. absolutely revolting.

Marcus laid it all out in his column.  Middleton crying about losing a hundred million is a farging obscenity.   The worst part of it is they're not getting crucified over it by their MAGA fan base either. 

I love Philly and always will but these last four years have been eye-opening when it comes to the douchebags who support the teams I root for.

the bucks and middleton own most of the team and are billionaires because their grandparents or great uncles struck it rich. they did not a god damn thing to earn their wealth, it was inherited. the bucks inherited the farging team. middleton was at least the guy who invested daddy's money.

ive mentioned it before but they had two options with where their roster was...spend even more to get the talent level up to the point where you can (maybe) compete with atlanta/havas' nats. OR fire sell and restart.
