Wentz is going to have the Andrew Luck career, but with an IR super bowl ring.

The man. The myth. The legend.

Don Ho

Jenkins should have retired with his two SB rings.  He's getting beaten like a drum tonight.

Although he would have fit in nicely with Howie's dumpster fire of a secondary.

got my grass seeds and plastic cups from the eagles today.  we are so spoiled.

The team needs to be dismantled.

There is no young talent.  The talent the team had is all either about to be done or on the back half of their careers.  Kelce, Ertz, Peters, Graham, Cox etc.  Even Slay who has been great is a short term player.

The only "elite" talent in his prime is probably Lane and I think Goeddert will be good.

Your hope was that Wentz was good enough to elevate mediocre talent around him.  He isn't.  Even if he's better than he is showing right now, he isn't the type of elite qb to truly carry a team.   I'm not sure I see the point of continuing with the construction of the team as it's constituted.

I'd strip it for parts and start again and if you're lucky you get Lawrence.

It appears that Nate Gerry doesn't have his own thread on :CF

Score one for :CF

Would that the Eagles could be so wise and have no place for him on the team

all this 100%

what's even more sad is that their best young player is probably miles sanders but RB's don't matter

the 2016 to 2019 drafts were a titanic disaster...when blowing it all up it has to start with howie
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

There's a handful of players that could be traded for decent picks. Lane, Kelce, Cox, both TEs. Could you get a fourth round pick for Brandon Graham? It hardly seems to matter since they can't draft for shtein.

Kelce and graham have zero value because of their age and graham cause he just isn't that good

but in general football just isn't like other sports where if you stink and have no future you just start unloading your good players for assets

No, but you might want to dump some high salaries to not be $66 million over the cap next year.

Clearly.

But how about some changes right now?  What do the Eagles have to lose by testing their young players?  If there was ever a time to figure out whether they have any talent in the wings, it's now.

Sit JP down.  He's done.  Time to see if Mailata is gonna pay off or not.  If it's the latter, well that's no worse than watching broke-down Peters' sad finale.  If it's the former, only game reps will prove it.  This is an opportunity for the team to decide how badly they need to draft OL.
Cut JJAW outright.  He's worthless.  He would be lucky to make a practice squad anywhere, but I bet he wouldn't.
Send DeSean to IR.  Hamstring, wounded ego...whatever his problem is, it's terminal.  He's done.  Let a kid play.  Is Watkins on IR for the long haul, or coming back?  Let Burnett or Hightower or Watkins have the snaps.
Bench Gerry.  Start Davion Taylor.  He's not going to be burned more than Gerry...maybe there's an NFL linebacker in him?
Trade Ertz asap.   If this team had any shot, I would prefer to keep his production but it's not and he's not gonna be retained after next year, so move him now. No other player has any real trade value.

right now?...keep losing...it's a fake meaningless year in which there is zero reason not to go winless

so I'd definitely be down with running guys out there who aren't near ready such as davion Taylor

I think the losing part is a foregone conclusion.  You can't beat the team that got the #1 pick in the draft a couple months ago...you're gonna keep losing.

Why lose with Peters and Gerry and JJAW and Jackson on the field?  None of them will be on the team next year.

Lose instead with Mailata and Taylor and Hightower and Watkins.   I'd rather confirm definitevly that they suck, and they can be sent packing along with the rest, than watch the old heads bumble along.  And what the hell, maybe we find out that by a miracle Mailata is actually valuable, or that Taylor is decent?  We know for sure that Peters and Gerry are not the future.

And seriously:  Howie should be on the phone right now shopping Ertz.

I mostly agree but you can't get the QB hurt unless you are completely out on Wentz and I'm not there yet...so you can't throw guys in the fire like mailata if they aren't at worst competent and he isn't

I forgot about Sanders.  He should've been included but as you say isn't an important enough position to be a critical help.
