sorry man, hope shes gets better soon.

afraid that this second round is going to be much worse than the first in terms of numbers.  DC has been surprisingly responsible in terms of social distancing and masks - until the last week.

May she beat it, and quickly.

Best wishes to her, Dio!

Check back in a coupe days Dio to let us know how she is coming along.

Sister started feeling poorly last Thursday, 5/28.
Got a free test via CVS on Friday, 5/29.
Positive result reported to her Monday, 6/1.

So far, she's been unable to speak to her/a doctor, despite having decent health insurance (Aetna).  Nor has anyone contacted her about tracing out her contacts.  She has no idea where she contracted the virus, and no officials have done any footwork to notify her contacts of their exposure.  She's made her own efforts to let everyone know, of course.

She continues to suffer mild fever, general body aches, but is otherwise comfortable, etc.

Does she have a pulse ox monitor to keep an eye on her blood oxygen levels?

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

glad she's doing okay so far, dio.  :yay
lemonade was a popular drink and it still is

Negative, Munron.  No breathing difficulty at all.  I'll speak to her about it next time we chat.

State of CT did contact her late today, walked her through the few days of her life before she noticed symptoms, took down locations, names and numbers that she could provide, etc.  So to be clear:  they do have a contact tracing program in place in CT...and in this case it took about 60 hours between positive test and that process to commence.

Oh, one other note:  participating in the contact tracing is optional.  She was told that she did not have to answer questions, and that indeed a good number of Covid positive patients who are contacted refuse to cooperate.

Yay humans.

I was actually wondering that the other day - they can't make people provide that info. I imagine the covid patients who think its a government hoax are not very helpful in tracing.

Or who don't want to admit they were picking up runaway teens at the bus station bathroom.

One thing I don't understand yet is how they notify people of their proximity to a known case.  They probably don't reveal the patient's identity, even when the person notified deduces it correctly.   HIPAA rules.  But of course, people will often know.  I've read news bits about people being shunned in their communities after being sick.  Surely some who decline to participate in the tracing regime do so for fear of being stigmatized and worse on account of having been sick alone, nevermind for getting caught out, or for being a snitch.  Tricky business.

How is your sis now Dio? Sounds like she is around that symptomatic 10 day range from what you said. I think things start looking a bit brighter now if she hasn't gotten really acute yet. Not out of the woods of course, but optimistic.

Diomedes

She reports no change for better or worse.  Low to mid grade fever comes and goes, and she's very tired.  Test came back on her teenage step son, positive.   He's totally asymptomatic.  Result for her boyfriend/partner not back yet.

Her State Health Department case manager checks on her every day by text or phone.  It took less than 24 hours for them to notify people she gave them info for.

Reading the stories about the people who are still having symptoms 60-90 days into the sickness are farging terrifying.

That sounds encouraging all things considered, legit glass half full. Glad the state seems  on top of it.
