I'm all for partying as much as possible but when you have millions at stake and the only rule is don't hit the bars this weekend, and you still do, you may have a booze problem. Jesus at least rent a place out so no strangers are around.

Sgt PSN

Best part of that story was him trying to get his people to lie about the video to back him up. It takes a special kind of icehole to actually ask people to lie on your behalf.

people need to stop complaining about the officiating, you aren't going to stop watching....EVER.  the nfl knows this about you and 20 million other people so there is no motivation to change it.  it's a game that moves faster than ever with 22 world class athletes flying around and 7 officials to keep track of it all.  shtein is gonna get farged up.  in fact, i'm amazed they get as much right as they do.

and people loved the steelers/seattle game yesterday and that type of game is exactly what the nfl wants and that's why the touchy defensive penalties exist.  it's the long term effect they are looking for and it's happening the way they want it to.

ive basically stopped watching non eagles nfl...its always on cause wifey loves it...but i could care less if i see any of it and if theres almost anything else on sports wise im watching that instead

the officiating is a big part of it but def not the only reason

i cant stomach the stepford fans...i cant stand pools and fantasy being more important to most people than the games...and i mostly cannot stomach roger goodell and by extension the owners...they are some of the most despicable people in the history of sports...i get they are in the business of making money but their quest to bleed every last penny out of the sport and the fans just doesnt make it fun anymore...the nail in the coffin for me tho was the ray rice greg hardy stuff

a perfect example of why i hate the league is while they would not admit it i believe they actually like to have some really bad officiating because it gives the league publicity...they dont care about the game and what would make it better they care about viewership...online clicks...espn coverage...ect...if bad officiating means more people are talking about the league that is a good thing for them when it should be a horrible thing...the problem is the nfl's fanbase has a massive amount of morons associated with it...whether its the meathead  who just wants to talk shtein...or the guy who only cares about fantasy...my mom who loves weekly pools...or just the average person who likes the nfl cause its so popular and wants to be part of something...

overall to much of the leagues fanbase cares about things that have nothing to do with the game or sport itself...which is why they dont give a shtein about horrible officiating or rules that pathetically favor the offense or the outrageous misogyny in the league...nothing matters cept going to your local sports bar every week and yelling at other fans about how much their team sucks

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

He's right though.  Other thank Chip Kelly, this might be the most right thing he's ever posted here.

Igy's getting old.  That's pretty much how I feel - I've never been more apathetic about sports, the NFL in particular.

Could be getting old (45 is coming soon enough), could be other things taking priority (soon to be teenage kids), could just be that I've had enough of the commercialization of sports.

It was a kind of slow dwindling.  The ESPN shows went first, then pre-game stuff.   Now I'm down to watching the Philly teams and that's about it.  And even then, it's often just background while I'm doing school work or finishing house projects.

When I let my son put on Minecraft on a Sunday afternoon, that means I've pretty much lost interest in the NFL...

Exactly, igy sounds like the people he hates. I'd swear he's a 50yr old neocon from that post.

I'd say the major difference here is that the people igy hates are people who think 1950s America was the greatest thing ever because women were in the kitchen, negros were out of site/out of mind, and gays didn't exist yet. Big difference between that and wanting sports to be about sports instead of all the other fluff that's surrounding it.

I hate anyone who has an oppressive mentality, and Goodell and the owners definitely have that. I can deal with the changes in the rules, but the hypocrisy in saying that it's all about player safety while trying to add 2 games to the reg season, forcing teams to travel halfway around the world, and weekly TNF games, which gives guys 4 days to recoup is a farging disgrace.  Having a month of pink to draw in lady fans while not taking a harder stance on women beaters is a disgrace.  Having refs botch calls at a record pace, but investigate the hell out of the Pats because of the "integrity of the game" is a disgrace.

while some of the things you listed bother me and some dont this is pretty much how i feel

im not some old man saying arrrrggggh sports isnt what it used to be....im not even saying the nfl couldnt woo me back....goodell being gone would be a great start...theres just so much about the league and the current management of it that rubs me the wrong way...

I mean, I guess it's ignorant to think that the commish and owners weren't greedy fargs 30 years ago, too and that the current regime is just taking the baton from the last group and taking "the plan" to the next level, but seriously....when is it enough?  Does the league need to have teams spread around the world with live action games being played 24/7?  Then what?  Beam game broadcasts into space and see what kind of intergalactic market there is?
