im just glad someone is going hard about it...i hope it becomes a monster issue at the next cba negotiations....altho i have to imagine the owners would shut the league down for five years before they agreed to guaranteed contracts

the players themselves don't help themselves when it comes time for the CBA to be up.  they keep accepting non-guaranteed contracts. i don't blame any player for trying to get as much money as they can each year but you can't complain about the inequity of power when it comes to contracts when your own union negotiated it

Well, if the contracts are guaranteed, they'd just have to be more realistic contracts. There are a lot of times that it's about the guaranteed money, but it's an ego stroke for the player to talk about the ballooned numbers that he'll never realistically see.

i hate nfl owners and especially goodell so much if makes my head hurt....not enough bad things can happen to them....i wouldnt even care if football went away for a a few years as long as they got bludgeoned in the final deal

i don't disagree with any of that.  the problem is the players have such a short window to make money and the owners know that they have all the leverage.  losing a year of that prime money making window is devastating to players.

yeah its never going to happen....the owners have way too much power and zero heart to give even a little....these guys are literally killing themselves for the sport and the owners could care less....i mean they literally covered up head injury data for years so that it wouldnt hurt their wallets...if that isnt pure eveil then i dont know what is...and dont get me started on the lack of caring for ex players who need help
