i cant possibly predict where ill be in 2022, but if it was this winter id watch it as much as i can....for example most games would be during work hours and weekend games would run up against football. it be tough.

Yup. I enjoy watching a few different events....gymnastics, track & field, and hoops. I'll pretty much only watch the US Men's team in hoops, but I could watch gymnastics and t&f events for hours. I have no idea who most of the competitors are, don't really care who wins, and probably won't remember them 5 minutes after their event ends, but I find both of those events to be fun teevee.

I didn't watch the opening ceremony but I did see a 30 second clip on ESPN of Giselle doing a catwalk thing as The Girl From Ipanema played in the background. That was pretty cool.

I can't blame NBC too much for that because that's exactly what most Americans want. People are too braindead to enjoy the incredible achievements of someone who speaks some other language and doesn't cry for the Stars and Stripes. That being said I haven't been able to get too much into this yet. Rugby has been cool to watch and I like the swimming stuff but not engrossed like normal.

Those are probably the big 4 for me too, as well as mens indoor VB. It makes me laugh when I see things like ESPN all time top 100 athletes and Karch Kiraly isn't on it when he could be in the top 10. Dude is the epitome of a champion.
I wasn't really planning on watching these olympics except maybe a match or two but got hooked in the first night and was surprised to see myself cheering out loud with the mens 4x100 freestyle. Amazing to see Phelps doing it yet again in a field of 4 legit contending teams, and coming from behind to secure a win. The womens gymnastics team going '85 Bears on all the rest of the best combined was great, too. I also like that I can go old school hating on the Soviets again. Wish Bobby Clark would lace them up for the winters.

Solo was absolutely right. The US dominated that game. Every time they had the ball, Sweden just fouled the farg out of them. In that 800 free I think Ledecky now owns the 13 fastest times ever. She was on the medal podium when a few others were just finishing. Funny seeing Phelps in a 3 way tie for a silver. Anthony Ervin won the 50m free style by 1/100th of a second. That's like waiting a couple of days to cut his fingernails being the difference.

The Olympic Men's Golf event finished a while ago and it was a terrific tournament and a great finish. Matt Kuchar won the Bronze and I don't think I've ever seen anyone get so excited over placing third. Dude was just pumped. Cool stuff.

Women's Sand Volleyball match between Brazil and US was off the charts tonight. What an atmosphere. So much energy, it was like a rock concert. Brazil was on fire. Walsh Jennings was like 22-0 in Olympics coming into this match. Had never been on the wrong side of a match point in her Olympic history.
