Buckhalter, Smith, Will Pete and Ramsey are inactive
Will Pete injury related or suckage related?
Ramsey out in favor of KVH?

He wasn't touched, so the play never ended. That can't be a catch. There was no forward progress either.

god Dallas fans are stupid...i was screaming at the tv when they were cheering the replay, like it was proving it was a catch
Westbrook back returning punts.
If he had been doing this all year, I know of at least ONE game that might been tipped in the Eagles favor.
Mother fargers.

It is hard to learn the NFL completely in 13 weeks. Give them a little bit of a break.
Westbrook running back punts. I wonder if Andy got an email and saw a virtual copy of his contract burn up ???
It's gotta work eventually, right?

All of the above. Plus the dumb play call the Eagles do once per game that didn't fool anybody.
If you want a trick play, then why not at least do an HB option pass for once?

It was a flea flicker, and there was a guy open over the middle but McNabb hesitated with the pressure in his face.
I honestly don't mind them running the flea flicker, Roy Williams bit on it just enough, McNabb just didn't pull the trigger. It wouldn't have been a TD or anything but a first down.
If there is a god, please make Romo's knee go kablooey
jesus christ Donovan is so terrible right now
Mcnabb with a horrible decision there, he got lucky as hell
Oh, and Donovan confided to Pam Oliver that he's a total bitch
Any roy williams just horsecollared mcnabb..ha
Why couldn't Roy Williams have been the safety in the NFC East that got shot?
Jesus christ Roy Williams is farging dirty as shtein.
farging Roy Williams...icehole
time to get rid of Akers, he's a mental midget now
I hope Dawk gets a hold of Romo and Dawk plexes him on his farging head.
It's over :puke
Christ, Shawn Andrews looked like he was giving birth on the sideline.
Smart play by Happy Scrappy to tackle hurd once the ball was tipped
Troy just called Curtis and Brown #3 WR's. I wouldn't go that far. I think they'd both make good #2 WR's next to a true #1.
Curtis is putting up solid #2 WR stats this year.
Get a true #1 please.

Joe "I'm on the Cowboys payroll and I love Romo's cock" Buck says the ball is coming out, but if you ask me it looks like he's got a hold of it with his arm, it's just his ARM that is coming out from his body. Then when his arm slams on the ground he loses the ball.

He called a time out to let his guys in the booth review it to see if it was worth challenging. farging idiot
its a fumble.
and the eagles will waste 2 timeouts on that.
after the refs ruled it was a fumble and dallas ball, the dallas cowboys lined up in a hurry to run a play off. the eagles D was not all on the field or lined up because they were not sure if reid would challenge. of course reid just stands there...while the D is forced to call a timeout because they are not even set...and reid then challenges the play...wasting 2 timeouts.
of course mikell should have never ran it out anyway.
Oh. I was hoping the review was of the "was Mikell down in the end zone after the cactch" variety...
I now truly, officially hate this team. not the Eagles in general. I just hate this team. ???

Anyway, whens the last time someone got some YAC other than Westbrook? We never have anyone running free off of a drag or a 15 yard crossing route. It is always 5 yard hook routes and immediately hit.

Also, make Brian Westbrook King of America, please.

Someone needs to bring a big 'pay westbrook' sign to the Bills game.
not really sure why AR decided to pass it on 2nd and 9 with 2:45 remaining in the game and 3rd and 9 w/ 2:38 left in the game (although the latter one played a big role in sealing the game) instead of running it down to the 2 minute warning. the 2nd down play calling was so bad don just had to chuck it or lose about ~7? yards. i think westbrook has more game smarts than andy. think i'm flip flopping to saying we need a wr the most. but, come to think of it, ar/mm's play calling has to be better. mcnabb (or whomever is there next year) will continue to get killed. how many times did we pass out of 1st and 10 and 3rd and medium??? our qb's getting slaughtered out there. then, on the final couple of drives, you see how good and suffocating our defense look when romo goes shotgun and we know they are going to pass.
we won the game, thank god, mostly bc westbrook is pretty much immortal.
Yeah, I'm not readin 10 pages of this thread but here's my .02
1. Great effort by JJ and the defense today. Gameplan was solid and the defensive execution was great. Mucho kudos for them playing at a high level for all 4 quarters and not wearing out. Sure, Romo didn't have a great day but the Eagles were able to get some pressure on him even though they didn't always lead to sacks.
2. McNabb looked McNasty running the ball today. Holy shtein, it looked like he had a rocket stuck up his ass on that long run. Seriously, he will be 100% to start next year and should be the Eagles opening day starter. Get him a farging #1 reciever!
3. Somehow this team managed to win in spite of horrible play calling, especially in the 4th quarter.
4. Westbrook = gawd
5. Reid/Morningwood = idiots

I was so happy when I caught that celebration.
A #1 WR in this offense would be excellent.
Curtis is gonna finish with like 85 for 1100 this year.
Could you imagine how much better this offense would be with ????/Curtis/Brown/Avant/Baskett at WR? Please get this team a star WR if you're gonna pass 45 times a game. Curtis would have so many more oppertunities if he was playin 2nd fiddle to a star WR.
Question on CSN PGL: why are Korver, Utley and Kolb more popular than the best players on their respective teams?

Quote"Donovan really seems to believe that his days in Philadelphia are numbered. When I spoke with him before the game, I got the impression that Donovan is a little hurt by what he sees as an organization distancing itself from him and an organization that's overly concerned about the negative fan reaction to him. With 4 pts today, Akers is the new all-time scoring leader in Eagles history (884 pts)
odds on him making 900 points as an Eagle?
It's possible, unlikely but possible, that he does it this year. I think he'll be back next year though. Good kickers are hard to come by and he's still more reliable than most.
He sucks now. Has all year. 2/10 from 40+?
Better bring in a legit guy in camp next year because if Akers struggles during the season then you have a good guy to call up and replace Akers with.

I have no problem with them doing that if he struggles once the season is underway. But unless they bring in another proven kicker then I think it'd be a mistake to go with some unknown/rookie kicker.
I was pretty happy to hear McNabb's comments about Oliver's report.

I wouldn't be mad at him one bit if he said he wanted out. All I know is if McNabb goes (unless he requests a trade or to be released) and Reid stays I will become the most anti-Eagles Eagles fan out there.

He did the celebration on the TD pass
The Pam Oliver comments were in the 1st quarter.
Quote"Donovan really seems to believe that his days in Philadelphia are numbered. When I spoke with him before the game, I got the impression that Donovan is a little hurt by what he sees as an organization distancing itself from him and an organization that's overly concerned about the negative fan reaction to him. But Donovan told me point blank: My knee is not an issue. The next place I go, I will win, and also that he will keep a smile on his face for as long he's in an Eagles uniform."
Quote"I didn't say that," an exasperated McNabb said after a game right out of his 2002 highlight reel. "I don't feel that way. I've said I want to be here eight more, nine more years. If that's possible, we'll see."
McNabb said Oliver's comments were conclusions she drew, not anything he said himself. But it isn't hard to see how she might have reached those conclusions since, within moments, McNabb was laughing and rolling his eyes at a question about whether he felt he would be welcomed back in Philadelphia in 2008.
"I don't know, are you going to welcome me?" McNabb said.
Jay, I don't record games and break down every play to its smallest detail, but of the FGs missed, how many were Rocca's fault if you take out the Meadowlands issues and the unlucky 57-yder last week?

Just going off memory I really can't think of many (if any) snaps or holds that weren't fluent but Rocca's probably not putting the ball exactly where Akers likes it like Koy did. I'm an Akers fan and I'd love to see the guy kicking for the Eagles for another 9 or 10 years but the one thing I'll say about him is that he doesn't seem to have gotten over not having Koy hold for him.
It was obvious how comfortable he was with neckbeard because when the Eagles brought him back late in the season last year Akers was perfect on FG attempts.
So maybe in the offseason (and during the weeks between games), Akers needs to work with Rocca and tell him exactly how he wants the ball spotted. Hell, invite neckbeard out for a couple of weeks this winter to work with Rocca.
stop with Rocca's fault...Koy isn't some magic farging holder, kickers all around the league kick with punters and backup qbs as their holders

No, but after X number of years of having the same exact long snapper and holder....when both things change, its gotta be hard to change everything around. Most kickers don't have the same holder/long snapper as long as Akers did, so comparing him to other kickers in the same situation is pretty difficult.

I'm not blaming Rocca, I'm suckling neckbeard.
I'm not saying Koy is awesome. I'm saying Rocca never held for a field goal until July and you can't expect him to be perfect on every snap.

I dont count that 57yd miss as his sucking. I haven't rewatched any games this year like in years past. However, he's just off. even last year he wasn't the same, IMO. But I don't fault Rocca.
Because when it comes down to it, a good kicker should not need a safety blanket. He should be able to kick it no matter who is holding it.
Sometimes kickers just lose it, and I think Akers is on his way to losing it.
if it really is a problem for akers than it's in his head and it's his problem, not Rocca's...in fact, i think Rocca's done a good job this year handling some snaps that weren't that good

"God-dammit....I knew I shouldn't of gave him a an extension..."
QuoteWhat we found out later was that he had a little help in the decision-making from right tackle Jon Runyan.
"I just want to help this team win - and I got a stern talking-to by Jon Runyan right before that play," Westbrook said.
"He said, 'Listen, if you get down to the 1, take a knee.' I was like, 'Ahhh . . . ' He said, 'Take a knee, Westbrook, take a knee.' "
Then, during the play, Westbrook said: "I looked back and I saw all 6-7 or 6-8 of him running toward me saying, 'Get down.' So I got down . . . Runyan, he's our offensive leader out there. He's a coach. So he helped me out a little bit there."
Runyan for coach, Westbrook for OC.

QuoteAll Eyes on Jessica Simpson at Cowboys Game
MONDAY DECEMBER 17, 2007 08:20 AM EST
Jessica Simpson was certainly as glamorous as any Dallas Cheerleader Sunday night, with her perfectly coiffed hair and miniature Tony Romo jersey emblazoned with a pink number 9. But she wasn't exactly a good luck charm.
Her new boyfriend struggled all game, throwing three interceptions and fumbling the ball twice as his heavily favored Cowboys lost to the Philadelphia Eagles 10-6. At one point, the network even showed a montage of Simpson, 27, spliced with shots of Romo's bad throws. As commentator Joe Buck noted, "It's never easy to play in front of your girlfriend."
That seems especially true for Romo. The 27-year-old Pro-Bowler ended the game with a quarterback rating of just 22.2 – that's the worst ever in his entire career. (In comparison, his average rating this year is over 100.) His previous low? Last December, when then-girlfriend Carrie Underwood was in the stands.
His latest performance is sure to anger some of the always-outspoken Dallas diehards. In fact, the backlash may have already begun. According to the Dallas Morning News, Romo was heckled outside the arena last night by a female fan who shouted, "Worry about the game, not your girlfriend!"

Quote from: Don Ho on December 16, 2007, 06:44:19 PM
WTF is with this clown consistently throwing short, low passes near the goal line?
Mechanics problem since year one - slo mo his throwing motion and you will see that just before he releases the ball, the forward point of the ball is pointing to the ground. When he throws a bullet, it puts a downward pull on the back of the ball and the flight levels out. If he takes anything off the throw, it goes right into the ground. It is this that has convinced me that the position of "quarterbacks coach" is a farce.

Aikman was bad, too. It was hilarious when Romo strung together two nice completions, and Aikman said you could just tell they were hitting their stride.
Their stride was a punt 4 plays later. Both Buck and Aikman were looking for excuses to fellate the Cowboys.

Besides the blatant officiating miss on Hamlin's head-to-head hot on Schobel, the hometown refs were in full force on less obvious plays also. A couple that went against the Eagles were very questionable (including a holding call on Jamaal Jackson when he cleanly pancaked someone), and there were an assload of non-calls in the Cowboys' favor.

Yep. They called a BS false start on Jackson as well when he lowered his ass to get into his stance. They also missed on a running into the kicker on Rocca. The guy claimed he got a piece of the ball but Rocca was punting from the end zone and the ball traveled to midfield.

Todd Archer: Just received an e-mail from the NFL saying they were reviewing the play for possible discipline. With this being his third horse-collar penalty of the year, I wouldn't be surprised to see him suspended. How big of a hit? Well, some of you will say it's not a big hit at all. But anytime you lose a starter, it's big. Facing a running team like Carolina on Saturday, the loss of Williams could be big. Add in Patrick Watkins' injury and you're looking at rookie Courtney Brown as the third safety behind Ken Hamlin and Keith Davis.

they could easily run a hook and out for Curtis over and over if the McNabb could figure out how to release the ball before the receivers break. He by far has the speed
speed isnt necessary to run a hook

That's all well and good but Fitzgerald has something outside of the fade and the off shoulder. He has talent. It's not like those are the only two routes he runs. Plus, McNabb isn't going to be here forever and whenever they go to Kolb it would be nice for him to have someone worth two shteins to throw to.

dont really care to drag this out but early in the game joe and troy discussed that outside of the 04 season the eagles have failed to surround mcnabb with play maker WRs. troy even said the only reason they went out and acquired owens was because their WRs were manhandled in the carolina game.
later in the game troy said something like "to back to our earlier discussion..." and he went on to discuss the WRs and said how if curtis is your #3 your in good shape and brown should be a # 3 or #4.

Hamlin didn't get a penalty on that hit because he lead with his shoulder, not his head. He also kept his head up and didn't lower it and hit Celek with the crown of his helmet. Like it or not, that's the rule. Thus, good hit by Hamlin.

I've been bitching about this for 3 years now. It seems like everytime I see Dallas play, whether it's against the Eagles or not, he is guilty of horse collaring someone almost every single game and a lot of times it doesn't get called. Clearly the fines aren't enough. Now that he's been hit with a one game suspension though, he's got to recieve multi-game suspensions from here on out every time he does it.

I'm glad someone said it. I mean, I can't stand the guy either, but attributing to him a desire to injure players by tackling them like that is a little much.

I think that's it. I mean, from what I can tell, even most Cowboys fans think that he sucks and that the horse collar is the only move he has.

not calling pam a liar here but it seems a little odd that in a pre game warm up interview don would somehow go into detail about how he feels the organization is distancing itself from him (esp after banner went on radio and claimed mcnabb would be back next season...or at least something like that and reid defended during his 2 weeks off) and how he will win wherever he goes.
in a pre game warm up session interview?
If Pam was as slammin' as she used to be, I'd believe her... but since she's not, she needs to shut her lyin', dirty farging mouth.

she should be fired for her response. holy shtein.
why?
i cant believe the NewsJournal go that interview and noone else did
Give me a break. Why on Earth would she be fired? She did her job and then defended how she did her job. The reality is that her job is useless and humanity would be better off without it, but that's neither here nor there.
exactly. I believe her.
McNabb's been salty for a how long now? Please. All of a sudden he wins a game vs Dallas, hes happy as pie and thinks he has a shot at the playoffs thinking the fans will be behind him now, so he lies and says he didnt say it.
McNabb is craving for a Philly hug
its ridiculous to say she should be fired...in fact if anything in the eyes of he employer she should get a bonus...how often do sideline reporters actually get something juicy
that being said...imo she is playing the woe is me card to much...just release a statement saying you stand by your reporting 100% or if youre gonna say this...
"My only professional regret is: Why on Earth did I bend over backwards to make it less impactful?," she said. "And then wake up to . . . to someone throwing you under bus like that.
then release everything he said pam even the stuff you intially held back
I thought the more telling quote from her was in Philly.com today:
"He's a sensitive person. I guess he needs whatever he needs."
Donovan = Sensitive little bitch (http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/eagles/20071218_Fox_reporter_defends_story_about_McNabb__quot_Im_a_little_shocked_and_dumbfounded_that_it_has_all_been_denied__quot__Pam_Oliver_said_.html)
Am I the only person who was surprised that after Westbrook downed it at the one Reid didn't call three pass plays?
Here's Cataldi's blog about the McNabb issue from today's Metro.
QuoteDonovan McNabb did something extraordinary Sunday in Dallas, and I'm not talking about the Eagles' 10-6 victory over the Cowboys. No, what McNabb did was take 60 minutes of the best football we've seen all year and turn it into a footnote.
By yesterday, the big news was not the sensational game played by the Eagles defense, nor the selfless act by Brian Westbrook to forsake a touchdown for a sure victory. Instead, the only thing anyone was talking about was McNabb pulling his tired, old victim routine once again, this time for Pam Oliver of Fox Sports.
Oliver reported early in the game that McNabb had implied to her that his "days were numbered" in Philadelphia, and that the Eagles organization was distancing itself from him. According to Oliver, who has been working the sidelines at NFL games for 12 years, McNabb also vowed to win again in his new city.
After the amazing victory, McNabb then spent a minute talking to reporters about his solid performance, and half an hour trying to explain his unusually candid comments. In the end, he denied everything including, I believe, the fact that he wears No. 5 and plays quarterback.
"I'm a human being," he said at one point, as if there were some dispute about that, too.
Everything McNabb said to Oliver has a ring of truth to it; many of his closest confidants have been saying the same things for months now. The problem is, he won't convey these views directly to us, to the fans, to the people who care the most. He prefers to drone on unconvincingly about playing his whole career in Philadelphia, about his love for the team, the coach and the city.
But the truth is there for everybody to see. McNabb must go at the end of this season, and he realizes it now, too. He just doesn't know how to say goodbye.
Whenever the topic of Donovan McNabb comes up — which is at least 100 times a day in every tavern on every street corner — it's important to list what is good about the guy before we list what is not so good. So here goes: He is smart, talented, a true gentleman, great in the community, a terrific family man, a fine human being.
But there's one more quality he has that is screwing everything up — he's sensitive. Really, really sensitive.
When the Philly fans booed Ron Jaworski, he booed along with them. When the fans boo McNabb, he stews. He doesn't understand that the boos are a response to one bad play, not a commentary on his existence.
The saddest part of these final days for McNabb is that this all could have worked out so much better for him and for the city. His work ethic fits Philadelphia perfectly. His desire to win is also an ideal match, as is his quirky sense of humor and even his highly vocal parents. It all works — all but the sensitivity.
McNabb has never understood the most important thing about Philadelphia: You've got to tell the truth, even when it makes you look bad, even when it hurts to do it. If you're honest with the fans of this city, they will forgive your greatest failures and revel in your biggest successes. If you're not honest, well, this is how it ends.
So, in this week when we should be celebrating a delicious victory over the hated Cowboys, we've already learned something important. McNabb's days are indeed numbered here and the organization may well be distancing itself from him, especially when he ruins the vibe from the best win of the season.
Hey, at least we're all finally on the same page.

He did but luckily Runyan also told McNabb to take a knee.
Usually I think Angelo is an incoherent ass. This time I have to agree with him. He's got a face fit for radio, but maybe he has the mouth fit for print.

Not true. Spikes is a guarantee to miss the playoffs every year. If he misses next season as well, they'll probably win the division again.

I mean, if you're going to try to be funny, at least work some fact in there.
