The complicity in the news media is wild. Journalism is deader than dead.

The NYT and WaPo withholding the stories about the impending attack on Venezuela was disgusting too

typical framing (an AP headline:) "Trump's plan to seize and revitalize Venezuela's oil industry faces major hurdles"

Putin is the happiest guy on the planet right now.  Spoils beckon.

Eagles Talk / Re: Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia ...

Bumping this thread as a sop to the haters.

It's a good read.  I recommend starting from the first post, but it's rich throughout; one can dip in anywhere and find each clown performing his part to type.

I watched the Bills game and I've re-watched all the second half pass plays.  Hurts was the solution, not the problem.  Patullo gave him dick-all to work with.  No one was open.  Play calling malpractice.  Frankly, it was borderline magnificent that Hurts didn't give up sacks or turnovers.  Eagles won that game because the Defense is all world, and the QB protected the ball.

Then yesterday I saw a clip of Hurts talking about working with Tanner, saying something about how that kind of mentorship was something he never had, so he is trying to be the mentor for his teammates that he didn't get.
One might infer a dry commentary on the way Wentz treated Hurts as a rookie, but he's not the type to log personal complaints in the press.

He certainly could have been speaking more broadly than just with the Eagles during his rookie season.
Remember, college inclusive, Hurts has had the same OC in consecutive years only once.

I had to double check that:

Alabama
2016 [true freshman] Nick Saban / Lane Kiffin
2017 Nick Saban / Brian Daboll
2018 Nick Saban / Michael Locklsey

Oklahoma
2019 Lincoln Riley / Cale Gundy and Bill Bedenbaugh

Eagles
2020 Pederson / Taylor
2021 Sirianni / Steichen
2022 Sirianni / Steichen
2023 Sirianni / Johnson
2024 Sirianni / Moore
2025 Sirianni / Patullo

Most common things in all these teams, other than a lot of wins?  Jalen Hurts.

Between '21 and '22, Hurts had Steichen.  His 2022 performance put him in the MVP conversation that season and his Super Bowl performance, even with the early turnover, was amazing.

Unlike other QBs we've had to watch, Hurts steps up in the biggest moments.  Love the guy.

The Eagles need a long term solution for OC.  They are set at QB.
