i dont know how many times i said their defense is terrible and its going to destroy them, but here we are

this is a little on the extreme side but when you have bohm-rhys-didi in the infield these types of things are bound to happen. the bet is that they will outhit it. one 3 run homer isnt enough.

I genuinely love baseball and always want them to do well. And when you have a team you root for who does dumb shtein it's infuriating.

a lot of this is on the offense

first off 4 runs today, thats all. second, they cant score so they play nothing but close games. that results in stupid brandon kintzler coming in, not qoonrod or brogdon. then alvarado melts down, perhaps because hes been used a lot.

combine that with just about the worst defense you can find, and you get innings like this. also their best player is hurt.

most of it is that the roster stinks

well yea but more than anything its mismatched

they have 3 good starters, a few normally solid bullpen arms, two high level hitters, 3-4 other solid pieces in the lineup. in a vacuum thats fine. not enough to win a world series, but something to start with.

but when your other 2 starters are garbage, your lineup is slow, you have zero right handed bench bats and just about every player is subpar to awful defensively...it results in what youre seeing.
