MDS

who is left that they could even get? i guess this is for extending graham and some small depth moves like adding a 2nd tight end or 4th wr like maclin.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Zanshin

I could actually see Maclin coming back on a reasonable deal, but if he did I think he'd be starting outside.

If they actually had $ I'd think the most useful player for them to add would be Mathieu.  Not going to happen but to answer MDS' question.

SD

Maclin or another vet WR, whoever's the cheapest. There are plenty of options.

Other needs: cheap backup TE, again, there are a lot of options

LB depth

OL depth

Suh on a one year deal? Who knows. Ngata might roll back to Detroit

I mean, he'd have to be CHEAP. He just doesn't have the speed anymore, and he never really had the size. He's kind of a guy without a position now after the injuries.

QB Eagles

Vinny Curry is still an Eagle. Pretty sure that's going to be another source of cap room in the near future.

June 1st cut, they'll save $9 million in cap space rather than $5 million. I'm surprised they approached him about restructuring his deal, maybe it was so it made it easier to trade him but there's an influx of DE's on the roster so him and his agent have to know he's on his way out.

if the eagles asked for a restructure then its because they wanna keep him....no player is making it easier to get traded....your goal as a player is to hit the open market

also you can designate two players as june first cuts and cut them whenever you want...you dont have to actually wait until june 1

Graham/Barnett/Long/Bennett/Curry...way too many DE's. Keeping him on the roster for any reason is dumb at this point. Unless they're planning on putting him in the DT rotation which somewhat makes sense since he doesn't get pressure on QBs like the other 4 players on the roster do.

hunt

keeping curry only makes sense if long isn't coming back.

I'd much rather keep Long, he's a much better pass rusher and he's $9 million cheaper

im not saying they are definitely keeping curry...i think hes most likely gone but its a money thing not a too many lineman thing

roster wise allen is gone and bennett is in...right now its a zero sum personnel wise

agreed...for 1 season.
but if graham bolts after this season, i might find myself wishing they had kept curry.  :-D

too many moving pieces...let howie figure it out.

cant argue the money factor but i disagree that chris long is a better pass rusher than vinny curry

curry led the team in pressures...granted he played a few more snaps than long but thats because hes better...also long had the benefit of an inordinate amount of his snaps being obvious passing downs where he could go wide 9 and just let loose

Curry provides pressure up the middle, if they're keeping him because he's a great 3rd down DT then whatever I understand the move. Long off the edge is perfect for what they need and he's cheap. Look test 'pressure' yes Curry gets more pressure, but he's an inside rusher where as Long is strictly an edge rusher. Really I don't care either way, they rotate their D line so much.

As for Graham...I'm conflicted on signing him to an extension. On the one hand he's a damn good player, on the other hand he'll be 30 once the season starts. He wants to get caked off. If I'm Howie I let him play out the season on his current deal then re-evaluate the situation next offseason.
