then why was he handed the job to begin with? its not like he was this bad out of nowhere.

Doug Pederson is your talent evaluator, that's partially the reason why. Barbre was perfectly fine as a LG, and do you know what else? He could play OT too! Stoutland is a fine OL coach, I can't see him signing off on getting rid of Barbre if there wasn't pressure from the FO to cut salary. That's the only way this makes sense.

this right here might be the dumbest not just football but sports talking point/cliche ever and it drives me nuts

Couldn't disagree more. Wentz was getting pummeled and leads the league in QB hits, Seumalu is 90% of the reason why. You don't chance that your future QB gets hurt just so you can see what a 3rd round LG can do. Like Ray Rhodes used to say "either shtein, or get off the can"

howie traded barbe...pederson wasnt dying for a conditional 7th round pick or whatever they got for him. im sure doug wants as much as talent as possible on the team. howie is a genius who drafted a future hall of famer in the 3rd round.

Napoleonic egomaniac as gm + stunod head coach + turnover machine jesus freak qb = ?
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

there isnt a number small enough to find the % of quarterbacks whose career was ended much less even badly hurt by being sacked because of an offensive lineman....this narrative makes voter fraud look like a national catastrophe

then throw in a guard and the number is probably zero

and when you take into consideration the number of offensive passing plays theres ever been and then the number of any kind of qb injury due to sack its still infinitesimal

its a cool thing for fans to say....HES GOING TO GET OUR QB MURDERED AHAAHAHAHAHA!! but bottom line is no coach has ever benched a lineman because they dont want their qb hurt they bench the lineman and because it hurts their chances to win

Most times, those two things go together. Line is out there to block in a ways such that the QB doesn't hit, thus allowing him to remain upright and complete the passes that can help win the game. If the QB gets hit constantly, that QB isn't going to be able to do his job, and if he gets hit enough that he can't stay healthy, it hurts the ability to win future games. Of course it's about winning games...either way.

Pederson obviously told him "we're good there with Seamolu". It's not like Howie is watching and conducting practice and just trading off whoever he choses. That would just be silly.

exactly

I don't know anyone could watch then re-watch that game and think Wentz isn't in trouble with Seamolu blocking for him. Wentz was getting pummeled. And lol at no coach ever benched a lineman because they don't want their QB to get hurt...the two go hand in hand. If the QB is getting nailed he can't properly do his job, an injury is also a possibility if highly unlikely.

im talking all lines....the very worst the very best....every pass play in the history of the league...career ending or severe injuries to qb's just dont happen in this manner

good quarterbacks throw the ball away...agile quarterbacks move and all quarterbacks know how to go down...then throw in the fact that theres tons of  coverage sacks...sacks that are the qb's fault sacks that are good plays by the sacker well designed blitzs sacks cause a wr ran the wrong route

hence the whole lineman X is going to get qb X killed is so silly...it doesnt exist except that its become a cool thing to say in the football lexicon

you wanna say a team is going to suck cause their OL stinks....or a lineman needs to come out cause he hurting the offense....im IN...but hes gotta come out or carson wentz is going to be in the cbs broadcast booth next year...get that shtein outta here

Samoan funerals are quite beautiful.
